**************************POSTDOCTORAL AD********************** Princeton University Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics & Department of Computer Science Bioinformatics/Computational Biology Postdoctoral Fellowships Postdoctoral positions are available in the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics (http://function.princeton.edu/) at the Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics and the Department of Computer Science at Princeton University. The laboratory is led by Professor Olga Troyanskaya and develops innovative computational and experimental approaches to predictive modeling and analysis of biological processes on the genomic scale. Potential projects are in areas of modeling biological pathways and networks based on heterogeneous genomic data in the context of tissue, developmental stage, and disease specificity; development of search algorithms and systems for very large expression data compendia; and development of novel machine learning approaches for data integration and pathway prediction. Many projects in the lab are purely computational, but several combine computational and experimental aspects. Our laboratory is located in the Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics and is also affiliated with the Departments of Computer Science and Molecular Biology at Princeton. The laboratory has both computational and experimental space, and members of the group have backgrounds ranging from machine learning to computer systems to computational biology to experimental biochemistry or genetics. Both the laboratory and the Genomics Institute provide an exceptional collaborative environment for research and learning. Teaching opportunities may be available for those interested. Ideal candidate would have a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Genetics or a related field. A strong computational background is required (background in machine learning, statistics, graph and network algorithms, or search algorithms is especially beneficial, as is substantial programming/systems building experience). For exceptional computational candidates, it is not essential to have extensive knowledge of biology up front. Exceptional experimentalists with less strong computational background will also be considered. For all candidates, strong research and publication background is required. To apply, e-mail a cover letter and CV (including publication list and names of at least three references) to Professor Olga Troyanskaya (ogt@princeton.edu) with email subject line 'Postdoctoral Application'. _____________________________________________________ Olga Troyanskaya, Ph.D. Associate Professor Department of Computer Science and Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics Princeton University, NJ 08544 ______________________________________________________
