Camarillo Springs Senior Men’s Golf Club POLICY AND PROCEDURES Revised June 04, 2015 General Procedure: 1. Senior Men’s Golf Club will play weekly on Monday mornings. During Daylight Savings Time, the first tee time will be 7:30 a.m. After the time change in October, the first tee time will be 8:00 a.m. 2. A slipstream (all players start and finish at the same time) start will be only when there is a membership meeting. 3. Check in with the tournament chairmen in the restaurant at least ½ hour before your tee time. There will be times that your original tee time may be moved by the tournament chairmen due to cancellations and/or in order to make complete foursomes. 4. All tournaments will be played under the USGA Rules of Golf unless otherwise notified by the Handicap Committee. 5. There will be no play on Mondays when the course charges holiday rates, unless otherwise notified. 6. It is recommended to senior players to buy the Camarillo Springs Senior Card from the Pro shop which will enable you to get lower golf fees for the year. Sign Up Procedure: 1. At the sign in table in the restaurant, the tournament chairmen will collect an optional $5 competition fee from those wanting to compete in that day’s tournament, and to mark you present. 2. The tournament chairmen will have sign-up sheets for the following two weeks with the game formats and tee times available. Select the tee times you wish and print your name on the space provided. 3. The slipstream format will usually be a scramble type of game. The sign-up sheet for a scramble format may ask you to sign your name under the appropriate handicap spread. The tournament chairmen may put the foursomes together for scrambles by handicap (this is the only time you may not be able to make up your own foursome). 4. After signing in with the tournament chairmen, go to the Pro Shop and pay for your Greens fees/cart if you are not an annual member. Scorecard: Put last names of each player and current handicap on the scorecard. Each scorecard must be dated and signed in appropriate places. Failure to sign & date scorecard is grounds for disqualification. Posting: 1. Post your individual or team score on the tournament scoring sheet in the Scoring Area after your round of golf, and leave your scorecard in the black box. 2. Post your adjusted gross score on the computer in the Pro Shop (see Posting under Policies). Tournament Cancellation: The tournament chairmen will decide cancellations of weekly tournaments due to bad weather. If you are uncertain as to whether the club will be playing because of bad weather, call the Pro Shop the morning of the tournament. Player Cancellation: If you need to cancel due to illness or other reasons, call the President or Tournament Chairmen the week before, or please notify the Pro Shop Starter by 7:00 a.m. the morning of the tournament. Standing Policies Membership Dues: 1. Annual membership dues for new members are $65 and the renewal for existing Members will be $55. Membership includes a membership to the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) which includes a monthly handicapping service and some advance money for tournament competitions. New and existing members who do not wish to be included in such competitions for cash may be rewarded in Pro. Shop script. 2. From July 1st, new membership dues will be $55; August 1st $50; Sept, 1st $45. From Oct 1st to the end of the year dues for new members will be $65. This $65 will include membership for the entire following year as well. (15 months) (Per change by Board of Directors at July 8, 2014 meeting). Format of Games: 1. All weekly game will be based on net scores. 2. The format for each Monday’s Tournament will be decided by the tournament chairmen. The games played each month will be posted on the bulletin board and on the web. 3. Each year the club will have a President’s Cup (Match Play Tournament) that will be played during the spring and the Club Championship which will be held in the fall. The club Championship will be played over four consecutive weeks with the first three scores counting as the player’s final total score. Most post-able games will include points based on individual performance, which shall be tallied for a year-end Points Championship as detailed on the web site. 4. To qualify for playing in the President’s Cup or the Club Championship, you must be a member and must have played in 6 weekly tournaments prior to the above events. 5. Usually 75% of all games (individual or team games) will be games that can be posted. Sweeps: 1. For those who wish to compete, optional $5 competition money is collected by the tournament chairmen each week before the tournament. The competition pot is then awarded to the appropriate winners in each flight. The winnings are put into envelopes for the players to collect the following week. The monthly tournament chairmen shall pay at least 90% of the collected money as prizes each week. Any excess shall be added to the general fund. 2. After 3 months, any winnings left in any unclaimed envelope will be put back into the club fund. 3. $20 is taken from each week’s competition pool to pay each member who wins closest to the pins on holes 3, 8, 11, and 12. (Change per BOD meeting July 8, 2014) 4. Two tournaments a year, the President’s Cup (Match Play) and the Club Championship, shall use the competition money from the general fund for prize money payoffs. Payoff distributions shall be decided by the Board of Directors based on available funds. This money can be paid in script that can be redeemed in the Pro Shop. 5. Anyone making a “Hole in One” during a regular Monday Tournament will be awarded $100 from the general fund. Handicaps: 1. The SCGA provides indexes for each player on the 1st and 15th of each month. 2. The Handicap Chairman will post the indexes each period and convert each player’s index to a handicap for Camarillo Springs Golf Course. 3. New members, without indexes, need to give to the Handicap Committee at least 5 recent score cards in order for a temporary index to be established. 4. In order to compete for the sweeps money, players must have an SCGA Index, a temporary index by Handicap Committee, or other index accepted by Handicap Committee. Posting: 1. Each member is required by SCGA regulations to post their adjusted gross scores for each round played. Posting can be done on the computer in the Pro Shop right after the round (recommended) or you can choose to post on your home computer. 2. Be sure to use the Equitable Stroke Control Table in the Pro Shop, located by the computer, to determine your adjusted gross score for posting. 3. Some rounds will be designated to be posted as Tournament rounds. Be sure to follow such notices when on display at the check-in table. 4. The Handicap Committee has the right to post penalty scores for members who do not post a correct score The Points System: 1. Points will be awarded for all individual net games that can be posted for handicap purposes, 2. Two (2) or four (4) player games will not be considered for points 3. Total points earned, year to date as of the last tournament in April, will not be used to determine eligibility to play in the Presidents Cup (Top 32 point earners); instead we will revert to 2 qualifying rounds immediately before the start of said President’s Cup, as per the recent member survey. 4. There will be three tiers of point values: a. Non tournament low net games. 300 points b. Monthly Point Championship tournaments. 450 points c. Presidents Cup is worth 600 points d. Club Championship is worth 600 points (“A” flight will have a value of 300 points and “B” flight will also be worth 300 points for a total of 600) 5. Each month will have a goal of 2 games set up for earning points. 6. There will be Approx. 20 point earning games a year. The points will be distributed according to how you place in relation to the full field. As an example: 7. a. First place will receive ‘X’ points b. Second place will receive 10% less c. Third place will receive 10% less than 2nd place d. This will continue all the way down to 40th place. Points Championship Playoff will consist of 2 events: a. First round will consist of the top 16 players on the points list. The value of the tournament will be 1200 points b. The top eight players will advance to the finals c. The points will be reset to allow any one of 8 players a chance to win. The top eight (8) players will play a match to determine the winner.
