Upcoming Events
This year's AGM is a particularly vital one.
SCSN stands at a crossroads with the creation of ASPiH
and several agenda items will be about how we, as a
network, move forward in collaboration with our
colleagues in ASPiH. I hope that you will be able to join in
the debate around this. There is also the requirement to
appoint a new Chair for SCSN as my tenure is coming to
an end.

Chair, SCSN
SCSN Survey
We will shortly be sending out a survey to all SCSN members
to ask what it is you want from the Scottish Clinical Skills
Network and how you see the Network developing in the
future.
It would be appreciated if you could complete the survey
so that we have a better understanding of what our
members want and we can then move forward, providing
a Network where members have more input.

SCSN BULLETIN NO.7
.
Overview
Since qualifying as a nurse I
have worked in critical care,
initially on a combined ICU/CCU
but as the units separated I
stayed with ICU. Geographical
location ensures a wide and
varied patient case mix making
for a truly general intensive care
experience.
In 2004 I took up a part time
secondment to University of
Stirling,
Highland
Campus
involved initially in the preregistration nursing programme.
This
continues
along
with
development and delivery of
CPD modules in acute care and
clinical examination. I also spent
some
time
delivering
resuscitation training across the
Highlands.
A
PGCert
(THE)
will
be
completed this year and I am
currently exploring options for
further study. A collaborative
virtual learning package should
also see completion and launch
this year.
This all makes for a challenging
but rewarding working life
balanced by interests such as
cycling, music and motorsport
and running a taxi service for my
daughters!
