Prelude “The Lone, Wild Bird” “On Pentecost They Gathered” The Carolbeth True Trio Call to Worship from Psalm 104 Pastor: O LORD, how manifold are your works! In your wisdom you have made them all. People: These all look to you to give them food in due season. Pastor: When you open your hand, they are filled with good things. All: When you send forth your spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground. * Hymn of Praise 289 “On Pentecost They Gathered” * Prayer of Confession Ever-living God, you poured your spirit upon gathered disciples, creating bold speech, open ears, and a new community of faith. We confess that we try to hold back the force of your Spirit among us. We do not listen for your word of grace, speak the good news of your redeeming love, or live as people made one in Christ. Have mercy on us, O God. Transform our desiccated lives by the power of your Spirit and fill us with the desire to be your faithful people, doing your will for the sake and in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. * Assurance of Pardon * Response of Joy (Hymn 582) PROCLAIMING THE WORD Prayer for Illumination Rev. Dr. Thomas Old Testament Reading – OT page 806 The Word of the Lord. Anthem Shine! Shine!
