How do I find out about scholarships? Hit the books. Doing research can help you find scholarships that you may not have heard about. Most public and campus libraries carry scholarship guides. Ask the librarian for help. Look under “Financial Aid”, “Student Aid” and “Scholarships”. Ask Employers. Your parents might already be aware if scholarships are provided for children of employees through their workplace. Ask them to check with their Human Resource department to see what is available. The staff should be able to provide information on application and deadlines. If you are employed, check with your own employer, too. Be sure to finish any forms required on time. Check local scholarships. Many community organizations, churches and clubs offer scholarships. Check the scholarship bulletins at your school frequently for information.
