More than just a meal
The Meal
Ingredients for four
400 grams sausages, (£1.00)
2 large onions,(60p)
A tin of mixed vegetables,(35p)
400 grams potatoes (40p)
2 oxo cubes. (5p)
Seasoning to taste
Total £2.40
Method
Cut the sausages into four and gently fry them in a large saucepan.
Peel and slice the onions.
Peel potatoes and cut into cubes.
When sausages are brown remove from pan.
Fry the sliced onions in the fat left over from the sausages until they are soft.
Add the sausages, the tin of mixed vegetables, the potatoes and enough water to cover.
Bring to the boil and add the oxo cubes then simmer until the potatoes are cooked.
Season to taste
