The King’s University College Young Alumni Award
Young Alumni Definition: King’s College has defined young alumni as graduates of the past 15 graduating years under the age of
35, from King’s University College.


The Young Alumni Award is presented, annually, when merited, to one Young Alumnus of King’s University College in
recognition of outstanding achievements.
These achievements will have earned them regional, national or international recognition or prominence through:
o service to humanity
o their professions and/or volunteer organizations
o community service
o the advancement of knowledge, or
o service to King’s University College.
Nominations


To be eligible, the nominee must be a graduate of King’s University College at The University of Western Ontario,
London, Ontario, and consent to the nomination.
The Young Alumni Award is to be presented at the annual Homecoming festivities in the fall. To be eligible for the
award, the recipient must agree to be in attendance at the annual award presentation.
Putting forward a nomination





To nominate a graduate for the Young Alumni Award, please submit a personal letter of support explaining why your
nominee should be recognized. The letter should address the accomplishments of the nominee as outlined in the
selection criteria.
Nominees must meet the criteria for the award, as of the day of the award presentation.
Nominations will stand for 36 months. Alumni may be nominated posthumously, but a representative must be in
attendance to receive the award during the ceremony on behalf of the recipient.
Self nominations and nominations from family members will not be accepted.
Current King’s University Alumni Board Members are ineligible for nomination.
Selection Process
The Award Selection Committee (made up of members of the Alumni Board at King’s) will be formed to review and grade
nominations. One recipient shall be chosen. However, in exceptional circumstances two recipients will be considered. All
nominees will be informed of the committee’s decision by June 30, 2012. The decision of the committee will be final.
