PRESS RELEASE For immediate release May 20, 2015 Media Contact Jane Gendron (435) 640-3315 jgendron@jgendron.com Park City Institute Announces TEDxParkCityWomen2015: “Momentum” May 28, 2015 PARK CITY, UT – Momentum. Moving forward. Gaining speed. Building traction. Connecting Park City women (and men) with a world-wide community devoted to “ideas worth spreading,” TEDxParkCityWomen2015 comes to the St. Regis Deer Valley on Thursday, May 28. The fourth annual TEDxParkCityWomen event features a livestream of talks and performances by world-renowned speakers and artists (from the TEDWomen “Momentum” conference in Monterey, Calif.). Throughout the conference, engaging conversation about the women-centered issues is woven into the experience. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. and the event runs from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.; lunch and snacks are included. The event is open to members of Park City Institute and is limited to 150 attendees. TED, an acronym for technology, entertainment and design, began in 1984 with the concept of creating “ideas worth spreading.” Since then, leaders from all walks of life have entered the TED fold and the scope of the organization has moved beyond an annual conference of the world’s best and brightest. Today, an array of conferences and programs, such as community-based TEDx, continue the TED momentum. Like a TED conference, these independently organized satellite events are designed to bring people together and stimulate dialogue and innovation. Past TEDWomen speakers have included everyone from Jane Fonda to Dr. Oz. This year’s simulcast runs the gamut from Nigeria’s green entrepreneur Achenyo Idachaba and writer Roxane Gay to glacier explorer Erin Pettit and musician Béla Fleck. Talks and performances given by accomplished activists, artists and professionals (in the public and private sector) round out the event. “This is a remarkable opportunity for Park City community members to take part in a tremendous dialogue,” explains PCI executive director Teri Orr. “Committing one day to sharing ideas is just the beginning of the conversation, which we hope to continue in days, weeks, months and years to come. This conference is about ‘momentum.’” This event is limited to 150 members of Park City Institute. Membership begins at $30. Call the box office at 435-655-3114 for pre-registration.
