Duties: Network administration I User support: Provides support for the day-to-day operations of computer networks including hardware/software installation and support; implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network \WAN) systems; assists in a variety of projects including network related wiring, LAN/WAN hardware/software configuration, and system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving; assists in providing network and remote connectivity hardware/software support; maintains LAN user documentation including hardware/software applications, support logs and other related information; assists in installing, designing, configuring, and maintaining system hardware and software; analyzes and troubleshoots network logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems; monitors usage to ensure security of data and access privileges; installs, supports and maintains both physical and virtual network servers and appliances; installs, maintains, and troubleshoots any Storage Area Networks (SANs); establishes and maintains user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges and security; performs daily server backups; monitors, troubleshoots and resolves server or data network problems; develops, maintains and implements network support and archiving procedures; keeps current regarding new hardware and software products for system enhancements; assists and provides support to other IT staff members as requested including performing scheduled network tasks, updating anti-virus definition files, monitoring network servers, and providing internet and inuanet user support, and specialized training where and if applicable. Assists and provides support for Help-Desk tickets and works with other IT support staff members under supervision and on mandated tasks as necessary. Learns and becomes proficient in all hardware and software applications currently in use by the RSIC. E-mail/Internet/ Systems Support: Establishes and maintains user e-mail accounts; provides e-mail trammg and software support; provides e-mail documentation and updates as needed; helps manage anti-spam and anti-virus servers and clients; researches and troubleshoots e-mail problems by reviewing mail logs, records, and network configurations; provides solutions to end-user identified problems. Telecommunications Support: Installs cables (CAT5/5E, RJ-45, etc.) and cable runs, makes and uses patch cables as necessary; researches, analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves telecommunications related problems; helps implement telecommunications operational procedures; creates and/or modifies voicemail and call features; installs telecommunications equipment and provides support for handsets, voicemail and new/emerging telecommunications-related technology; inventories telecommunications equipment. Provides support for mobile and cellular devices as needed. Knowledge of: Working knowledge of local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), Wi-Fi, Internet, MS Exchange e-mail systems, telecommunications and data communications; standard Windows operating systems, software packages, backup software and software utilities; proper records maintenance and storage for local and distributed environments. Knowledge and experience with cyber-security, firewalls, SonicWall and Cisco products including routers, switches, and network connection devices. Working knowledge of server and desktop virtualization technologies. Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, HTML, PHP, Web programming, hosting, liS, and social media formats a strong plus. Training and Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience in general IT-related roles including direct experience with the Windows Operating Systems (XP, Windows 7, Server 2003 and 2008, and Exchange server 2003-2010); experience in all areas of local and wide area network management and administration including system configuration, setup, troubleshooting, planning, implementation, and user support; experience installing and supporting Microsoft server technologies; experience supporting telecommunications equipment. Experience and familiarity with wireless and mobile technologies. A minimum of 1 years experience with VOIP systems, with ShoreTel a strong plus. Experience with VMware, vSphere, and virtualization systems is highly desired, as is experience with high-availability design structure and disaster recovery techniques. Duties will include hardware, software, networking, telephone and telecommunications support. Position: Status: Supervisor: Department: FLSA: Environmental Specialist II Part-Time; Days/Hours Vary Environmental Manager Planning/Environmental Non-Exempt Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Environmental Manager, performs specific objectives and work plan activities under approved environmental grants. Assists the Environmental Manager with management duties, monitoring, planning, trainings, administrating and related work as required. This position is dependent on available grant funds. Duties: Assist with the development and management of RSIC sustainability initiatives. Develop technical documents including environmental plans, quality assurance plans, and standard operating procedures for specific scientific measurements. Review and analyze environmental plans and technical documents, environmental assessments and laboratory results. Develop general and technical expertise in environmental and social justice issues. Expertise will be used to communicate the benefits of sustainability. The technical expertise will be used to provide technical assistance to departments and for the development of detailed environmental plans. Participate in the installation and calibration of technical instruments; perform adjustment, collection, and processing of data from various testing/sampling instrumentation and equipment within the scope of training and ability; submit data to appropriate government agencies. Assist in maintaining the environmental program office computer system. Conduct investigations and prepare reports concerning environmental problems and situations on the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony. Establish effective working relationships with the Tribal and technical staff of various agencies. Coordinate and develop environmental grant funding proposals for new sources of funding as well as ongoing grants. Coordinate and assist with other Tribal departments and organizations involved in environmental and social justice issues. Attend meetings and training, which affect Tribal social and environmental issues. Provide written reports to the Environmental Manager on activities, projects, training and meetings. Assist in developing workshop materials, booklets, videos, pamphlets and newsletter articles for distribution to the Tribal membership. Perform other duties as required or assigned by the Environmental Manager. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Public Administration, Planning, or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience which would indicate the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described above. Strong commitment towards affecting positive environmental and social change. Strong personal commitment to sustainability preferred. Must have technical and analytical skills to interpret environmental reports, plans, and data. Knowledge of Tribal communities and their organizational structure and basic understanding of Indian law and sovereignty principles. Must work with minimal supervision and work in a professional manner. Must have the ability to utilize and assimilate all forms of environmentally related data and the ability to accurately summarize in common terms. Must have the ability to understand current federal, state and local environmental laws. Must be reliable. Good judgment and personal initiative are important. Must attend after work hour meetings. Must possess very good written and oral communication skills. Must demonstrate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and various Windows-based computer programs. Familiarity with the Internet and with desktop publishing program desired. Familiarity with GIS/GPS desired, but not required.
