Project in Twelve Parts
This project is worth 75 points
Your assignment is to learn about your family’s past through stories of origins, memories
and experiences. Share your family’s present with current jobs, hobbies, foods and
interests. Your family’s future is represented with goals and desires.
Your project must include at least 12 topics of information. If you choose 12 members of
your family as the ‘parts’, you must have at least 10 bits of information about each person.
Suggested categories include:
















Names of family members, and relationship to you; self, siblings, parents,
grandparents
Traditions of the family; languages, religious practices, customs observed
Foods of the family; favorite foods, holidays associated with particular foods
Jobs of the family; first jobs held, current jobs, future job goals
Family leisure activities; sports, hobbies, games
Education of the family; background, where attended school
Family travels or vacations; locations, activities
Technology; how has this changed from your parents/grandparents days when
they were your age
Goals of family members; future plans or desires
Favorite memories; with other family members
Family celebrations
History of family; where did your ancestors originate?
Entertainment enjoyed by the family; what did people do “back in the day”
Family members favorite books and /or stories
Favorite toys or games from childhood
Family Pets
Be creative in the format of your project. Suggestions for the format of your project
could be any of the following:

 Family Trading Cards
 Family Calendar
 Family Pizza
 Family Mobile
 Family Scrapbook
 PowerPoint Presentation
 Family Tree

**If you will be using pictures, please be sure they are NOT ORIGINALS/ONE OF A KIND
photos. If you need copies to be made, I can do that for you at school.
Neatness and timeliness are both part of the assessment of this project. Choose the
format with which you will be most comfortable.
To assist with timeliness, there will be two PARENT SIGNATURES required between now
and the project due date.
