Classroom Rules and Expectations

Mr. McGuire – Social Studies – Room 309

Classroom Rules:

1.

Be respectful to others and their property. This also includes respecting me. I am a part of the classroom as well.

2.

Be responsible for oneself.

3.

Obey directions, written and oral.

4.

Make good choices and take responsibility for your actions.

5.

Be on time to class. Tardiness will not be tolerated.

6.

Come to class prepared to learn with all supplies and a good attitude:

Notebook/Binder with paper, Folder, Pen/Pencil, Homework (if it was assigned)

7.

Do your BEST work!

Expectations I have of you:

1.

Ask questions that are APPROPRIATE.

2.

Complete all assigned work to the very best of your ability.

3.

Study and prepare for tests and quizzes.

4.

When you are absent, take responsibility for making up all work.

5.

Understand the similarities and differences of others in our classroom.

6.

Communicate with me as to any way I can better help you be successful in class or out of class.

Consequences:

If a student chooses not to follow the Rules and Expectations of this classroom, the following actions can be taken:

1.

Verbal Warning (points from daily grade will be deducted)

2.

Write Up

3.

Parent/Guardian will be contacted if problems persist

Grading Policy:

Tests- 40% (We will have at least three tests per quarter)

Quizzes- 25%

Notebook- 10%

Homework- 10%

Daily Grade- 15%

Participation in class will be factored in toward bonus points which will help your Daily Grade
