Creative Problem Solving Institute (CPSI) 2014 Conference Description: Internship Description: The Creative Problem Solving Institute is the world’s oldest running experiential creativity institute dedicated to inspiring innovation and cutting edge creativity training. This conference is held once annually in Buffalo, New York in midJune. This annual meeting include creativity practitioners and students from around the world. Leaders and trainers present on a variety of topics relating to business, education, the arts, health and wellness and leading academic trends in the field. The conference is a week-long with general sessions taking place between 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. along with nightly activities that extend until 11:00 p.m. These sessions and activities provide an opportunity to share ideas, solve problems and explore partnerships in innovation through networking with participants and leadership. CPSI offers an unpaid internship opportunity for current college level students within Western New York. Interns will work directly with the Director of Operations, who is responsible for providing support for the educational programs for the creativity development of participants. The Intern will assist the Director of Operations with the following tasks: Internship Benefits: Program Venue – coordinate with venue for program logistics (e.g., coordination of program materials, registration of participants, creation and dispersal of signage, parking, and other logistics as necessary) Conference Social Media – work with Director of Operations and Marketing to post daily updates to conference newsletter and social media outlets. Monitor program requests. Conference Feedback – launch electronic and hard copy surveys to obtain feedback from attendees on program applicability and quality and share tabulated feedback with the Board. Special Events – assists with conference staff with special events during the conference. As this is an creative problem solving development opportunity, selected intern(s) will have the opportunity to: 1. Attend one conference session daily (free of charge) 2. Attend all general-staff meetings, providing an opportunity to understand how the chapter operates from “behind the scenes”.
