Dr. John and Mae Benjamin Scholarship Criteria: GUSD graduating senior Will attend an accredited college Majoring in Medicine or Pre-Med Program Award: $1,000 Phil Ellis Scholarship Criteria: Graduating Senior At least a 2.5 GPA or better No Unsatisfactory marks in citizenship Will pursue higher education in college, vocational or technical institution Majoring in Business, Accounting, Economics or Marketing Must be resident of Burbank, Glendale, Montrose, La Crescenta, La Canada or Verdugo City Award: $1,000 Gonzales Harris Bilingual Scholarship Criteria: Graduating senior of the Verdugo region Planning to attend an accredited community college, four-year college or vocational school Must have minimum overall GPA of 3.5 Must provide proof of US Citizenship Demonstrate fluency (written and verbal) in both Spanish and English Award: $2,000 -$6,000 depending upon college/university attendance and financial need Glendale Latino Association Scholarship Criteria: Graduating senior from GUSD Student MUST be from Latino Heritage Attend a 2 or 4-year college/university or a technical training institution Special consideration for those who provide community service Award: $500 - $2,000 “Big Man Fritsche” Scholarship Criteria: Graduating senior from service region of the Community Foundation of the Verdugos (includes Glendale, etc.) Will attend a 2 or 4 year college/university Working towards a certificate or degree Demonstrate financial need Demonstrate entrepreneurial aptitude, a potential for achievement and self-motivation Award: $1,000 - $5,000 renewable The 1st Christian Church of Glendale Scholarship Criteria: Must show proof of a minimum of 13 years residency in Glendale, La Crescenta . etc. (Samples of proof are available on the website) Minimum overall 2.5 GPA Must be a US Citizen Special Requirement: Must have a belief that Christ is the Son of God and their personal Savior Award: $250 - $1,000 may be renewable John Krikorian Journalism Scholarship Criteria: Award: $500 Graduating senior of a Glendale, Burbank, Foothill or surrounding LA area From a Private or Public School Majoring/Studying Journalism, Publishing, Marketing or Business Tuesday Afternoon Club Scholarship Criteria: Graduating senior from GUSD Will attend college/university or technical institute Demonstrate financial need Proof of US Citizenship Community Service Award: $1,000 The Sambar Scholarship Endowment Criteria: Graduating senior from GUSD Will attend a 2 or 4 year college/university Demonstrate financial need Special Requirement: Student must show that the scholarship will make a difference in the student’s ability to obtain higher education.
