The Endless Evolution of Cell Phones
1983
The cell phone he is holding is connected to the car with a cord
that has its limit of the range. This impacted the American life
because it was the first cell phone to be connected to the car and
was able to reach somebody from a far distance by using the
satellite in the car.

1993
This is the earliest cell phone that has the touchpad which looks like a
smart phone with the weight being a lot lighter and without dial pads
rather touchscreen. This cell phone played a role that would change the
USA technology forever by using touchscreen pads making it more
convenient for most of the new generation in the future. The touchscreen
impacts my life today because of this first touchscreen, now everything is
touchscreen and not many people use the old fashion dial pads anymore.

1997
The cell phone got a lot smaller in dimension and it also advanced a
lot within the 3 years that it even opens up and can text. It is a lot
lighter with a smaller screen compare to the touchscreen phone. This
played a new role in the USA because it made people text a lot
quicker than ever before. It was designed like a keyboard of a computer that can do the
same texting with the computer so it’s more convenient to text faster on the phone. This
impacted my life because I remember getting this kind of phone and it made it a lot more
convenient to text even without looking since I knew the computer keyboard and how
that was the same with the phone so sometimes I did not have to look to text. That saved
a lot of time texting to someone especially in an emergency situation.

1999
The earliest built in camera and you can see that the signal cord is a lot
shorter now and looks a lot lighter than any other cell phones in the
previous years. This build in camera played a magnificent role that
would help develop more phones to function just like that but would
enhance the ability to take more clear quality pictures in the future in the
USA. This phone impacted my life and the American lives by being able to take pictures
anywhere you go with the phone and saving the memories that people would forget but
this phone has the ability to keep the beautiful image that can make people recall the sad
and happy moments that took in their lives with this built in camera.

2002
The earliest flip phone with camera with the ability to use flash when it’s
in the dark so it can take pictures clearly. This phone played a role that
no other phones had which is the ability to use flash in the dark. This is
impacted myself and the Americans lives because the cell phone made it
possible to take pictures in the dark. The cell phone in 1999 was great
and everything but could not take pictures in the dark since it did not
have flash. However, this new developed cell phone with the flash makes it possible to
take pictures during the day and night. If something happened at nighttime that you
wanted to take picture of that was very important now it is possible which can impact our
lives forever.

2005
The earliest smartphone that can operate Internet browser and can do
touchscreen is now developed in this cell phone. The cell phone is still light
and with more options on the cell phone with more clear vision on the cell
phone screen. This impacted the lives of the Americans and in my life because now we
do not have to carry computers around to use the Internet nor do we have to stay at home
to use the Internet. This cell phone makes it possible to use the Internet anywhere we go.
For businessmen it is essential because they need to be on the internet most of the time
and with this phone they can be on the internet even if they are away and taking a break.
The cell phone would notify the user and would make it really reliable for the people to
take advantage of this cell phone.

2007
This was the earliest IPhone smartphone that came out with bunch of
application and much lighter with a 3G network. This device played a role
that no other smartphones had. It had applications that would let people get
involved in many things that they like to learn and makes it easier for people
to understand how this smart phone operates. The IPhone shows square
images that would indicate how every one of them functions. Even if people
do not understand how it’s suppose to function, the icon makes the user
remember what it does when the user clicks on it and tries to figure it out.
This would impact everyone around the world because of the application
touchscreen device that has the ability to even customize and change the
language so that it would function accordingly to the users desire. This IPhone would
change people’s lives tremendously throughout history.

2014
The IPhone 6 came out this year and the processor is a lot faster and also
the lightest IPhones throughout all the years. It has a very high tech
computer system with networks that can function with front and back
camera as well. This IPhone 6 impacted my life and the American lives
because the now there is 4G or LTE network which makes it extremely
fast for the internet so that the people do not have to wait so long to look
up something on the internet. The screen on the IPhone has better quality
with built in camera that can zoom in and out and still have the capability
to take amazing clear pictures. Also, the IPhone 6 stores more memory
now that it can save bunch of pictures, applications, and videos.

The cell phone has tremendously changed throughout history. It impacts our lives
in the community all around the world because the cell phone made it a lot more
convenient for people to shop online and to communicate with your friends and family
around the world. Furthermore, how the cell phone’s dimension changes over the years
and how that impacts the relationships and the communities by having a more convenient
lighter size phone and the new advanced cell phones that would have more abilities to
function in a unique kind of way to make it more convenient for the communities.
Through the timeline, you can see that the cell phones went from very large
dimension to smaller dimensions but then it went back to the phase that it gets more
bigger but with better quality and advanced technology installed in the cell phone. This
advanced technology affected relationships and communities because it reduced the
weight and the size so the cell phone are more applicable for people to fit it inside their
pockets and how it the technology took out the dial pad eventually and changed it to
touchscreen pads so that it would save more space and reduce the weight.
For example, Touch screen when it first came out it was very fascinating because
not many people knew or saw how it would work and function. Some people would
struggle because they were not comfortable with the touchpad rather than a keypad that
was easier to use. The size would look like a clear screen that you would just have to
touch in order to make it work since it does not have a keypad and that would be
convenient for some people especially the younger generation compare to the older folks
that have hard time seeing or comprehending the screen and how it functions. Figure 2,
you can see that the cell phone dimension changed and looks a lot lighter compare to
Figure 1, with the dial pad attached to the cell phone.
Figure 3, The earliest built in camera affected many people because the built in
camera can take pictures and save into your cell phone that will last a lifetime. It affects
the relationship and the community because being able to save photos could help
remember who the person is throughout your phone contacts and give a detail
background of where the photo was taken. Also, the size and the shape of the phone look
much smaller than the phones back in the years with the built in camera. Figure 7, the
applications on the IPhone has the greatest impact out of all the latest phones today
because it has everything you need to know or want to know on the applications. The
application knows all about the subjects and also includes games, dictionary, lifestyle,
and a lot more. This impacts the relationship and the community outrageously because
now a day everyone uses application to text message and to make calls with different
folders and application that leads to a whole new page full of knowledge and information
about the materials you’re looking for. The IPhone even works just like a computer that
even computers are not needed when you have a cell phone now. The IPhone has
advanced and greatly influenced the new generations that everything works within the
cell phone and technology now. The shape and the size are like a rectangle so that the
IPhone can slide smoothly into the front and back pockets of jackets, jeans, and shirts.
The IPhone is very light and convenient to carry around anywhere.
However, if the IPhone is lost and does not have any security protection or lock
on the screen it can be dangerous as well because the stealer can go through your
personal information and credit card information. Furthermore, IPhone now gets people
connected worldwide throughout the world regardless of how far the distance may be.
Back in the day around 1983 on the movie the guy was using a cell phone that was
connected to the car using it as a satellite to get connection with a long cord attached to it
which you cant go out of range that far away from the car. However, now which is 2014
has improved in technology with the cell phone dramatically to the point everything is
functioning with the cell phone. Without the cell phone people would panic and have
hard time living without it especially in the world we live today.
Reflection
When I first started I was wondering what movie would have a cell phone that
indicates an old fashion type of cell phone. It took me awhile to find it because cell
phones were usually absent back in the days and people would usually use home
telephones. Finally, on YouTube I found a cell phone that was connected to the car
satellite in order to call someone but with a distance range since the cell phone cord is
connected to the satellite. As you can see on the timeline the video is the evidence to
show the audience what I am talking about and how the cell phone changed tremendously
throughout the years. Today the cell phones differ from the video I saw because everyone
has cell phones these days in order to contact people and store pictures and information in
their phone. The major difference is that now the cell phone has Internet browser that
everyone can watch and be involved in anything that is going on around the world with
the digital media. Back in the days, it was used only for the purpose to communicate with
someone else over the phone. By accomplishing this Project 2 I decided to exclude some
of the really old fashioned phone that did not follow the categorization of the cell phones
on the timeline because it would be considered a home telephones with the cord attached
to the dial pad which I am trying to avoid. Therefore, I included the ones that are
essential to the collection of my archive that would connect from years to years indicating
the different dimensions and features that was added to the cell phones. The archive that I
created is the advanced development built in the cell phones that changed throughout the
years as you can see on my timeline; it indicates the dimension and the new features on
the cell phones that goes in a spatial appeal that shows the audience in a organized steps
throughout the years of the changes that were made in a cell phones. If I could replicate
the project I would want a physical collection because that is something you can see and
touch.
