General:
You can expect us to:

Provide services which meet the needs of all learners in accordance with College
policy on equality of opportunity and within available resources

Work with academic colleagues to ensure that LLSC services are planned to
meet the needs of learners

Guarantee confidentiality of personal information

Provide high quality services through well-trained staff

Provide books, journals, audio-visual materials and electronic sources of
information to support the curriculum
Access
You can expect us to:

Have opening hours linked to the needs of learners as far as available staffing
resources allow

Clearly display LLSC opening times in and around the College

Provide a telephone renewals service after the first loan period has expired

Accept enquiries made in person, in writing, by telephone or electronic mail
Accommodation
You can expect us to:

Provide a pleasant and welcoming environment for you to work in

Provide a LLSC which is well-arranged and clearly signposted for ease of use

Provide study accommodation to allow both individual and group study
Resources
You can expect us to:

Provide a suitable collection of materials at to meet your needs in terms of
course work

Provide an accurate online catalogue, which allows learners to search for
material independently in accordance with developing LLSC skills.

Provide access to a range of electronic information sources

Supply appropriate items not in stock through purchase or interlibrary loans

Provide a reservations service for books which are in stock but not currently
available

Re-shelve all returned material promptly and accurately
Communicating with Learners
You can expect us to:

Maintain helpful and courteous communications with learners

Secure feedback from learners through appropriate channels

Respond promptly to complaints, which in the first instance should be made to
the member of staff on duty. If the matter cannot be dealt with satisfactorily, it will
be referred to the Head of the LLSC
We expect you to:

Treat other LLSC users and staff with respect and courtesy at all times

Keep noise to an acceptable level

Refrain from eating, drinking and smoking.

Return library books and other materials promptly and in good condition

Accept responsibility for all items issued on your ticket

Treat the environment with respect
