His work often involves making sustainability indicators, such as those developed by the Global Reporting Initiative, accessible and easy to use for internal management systems and external reports. With his broad background, which includes a Ph.D. in chemistry from ETH Zurich, postdoctoral work in environmental sociology at Harvard, and training in business administration at IMD, he brings an integrative perspective to clients’ sustainability initiatives. In his work he employs a multidisciplinary approach that couples technical, quantitative expertise with a commitment to clear and concise communication. He has a Ph.D. in Chemistry, and spent ten years in environmental research and education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. David McDougall EnerNOC, Inc. David is the Director of Energy Services for EnerNOC’s Eastern Region. Services include all levels of ASHRAE audits, strategic energy plans, retro-commissioning and commissioning. Before joining EnerNOC, David had an extensive history in sustainability programs, operations, sales, and engineering management. David received his BS Mechanical Engineering degree from US Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY. David is also a Certified Energy Manager, a LEED accredited professional and teaches “Sustainability in the Organization” at Boston University. Catherine Benoît Norris New Earth PO Box 507, York Beach, ME 03910 (207) 752-2624 // cbenoit@sylvatica.com // www.socialhotspot.org Catherine Benoît Norris is the VP Social Sustainability at New Earth where she directs the Social Hotspots Database project and provides advisory services to practitioners and firms so that they can better manage the social impacts of their supply chain and create more shared benefits. She directed and coordinated research for several highly praised sustainability centers (CIRAIG, The Sustainability Consortium). She is the lead editor of the UNEP-SETAC Guidelines for S-LCA and the Social LCA methodological sheets. She is an expert of the Global Social Compliance Programme Equivalence assessment process and a member of the technical committee of the GISR. Catherine holds a BSc. in Anthropology from University of Montreal, and a MSc. in Environmental Sciences from University of Quebec at Montreal. Her PhD from the Montreal joint business school program is in Business Administration.
