Sun Trust Education Scholarship Contests
This scholarship sweepstakes awards one winner $1000 every two
weeks from Sept 14, 2014 through May 10, 2015 for a total of 15
winners. You may resubmit an entry every 2 weeks to try to win. Please
visit www.suntrusteducation.com to read the official rules and enter
the contest.

This program offers free college scholarships and scholarship contests for
members of the program. Joining is free. Members earn points by logging in
each day, completing surveys and reviewing other sites and services. Earned
points are entered into monthly drawings for the free scholarships.

Imagine America Scholarship
Many career colleges participate in this program (Bryant & Stratton, Art Institute
of Pittsburgh, Erie Business Center, Triangle Tech, Le Cordon Bleu, Trumbull
Business College, Lincoln Technical Institute, Ohio Technical College, and
Academy of Court Reporting and Wyo Tech are a few that are participating this
year). Go to www.imagine-america.org/scholarship to see what is offered. ATech may nominate FIVE graduating seniors for this scholarship. Winners must
still be accepted and approved by the technical or trade school.

Christian Connector Scholarships
Winners are selected at randomly throughout the year; recipient must have
plans to enroll for the first time as a full-time student at a Christ-centered

Captain U Student-Athlete Scholarship
This is a college sports recruiting platform that helps top studentathletes get to the next level. All high school student-athletes that plan
to attend a 4-year college may apply; must complete a free Captain U

The tuition Exchange is an association of over 600 colleges and universities
awarding over 5,900 full or substantial scholarships each year for children and

Conneaut Public Library Scholarship
Conneaut seniors with a GPA of 2.5 or higher planning to attend an accredited
college or university and have at least 20 hours of volunteer time at the
Conneaut Public Library can apply. High character standing in extracurricular
activities and community service are also required. Pick up an application at the
library.

**Rotary Club of Rock Creek/Grand Valley
Grand Valley seniors with a GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible to apply. High school
activities, including offices held and community organization participation are
considered. A 250-word essay describing an experience that has helped you
grow as a person is required. Completed applications are to be returned to Mr.
Stimecz on or before the March 27th due date.

**Ashtabula County Safety Council Scholarship
Applicants must be the child of an employee of an active member company of
the Ashtabula County Safety Council. There are 108 active member companies
as of Feb. 15, 2015. A-Tech career tech instructors received an email that
includes the application and the list of eligible companies.

**Edward J. Harvey Scholarship
Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited institution of higher
education as a full-time student. Preference will be given to students showing
financial need and satisfactory achievement or ability (GPA of 2.5 or higher). The
completed application, a signed copy of your high school transcript, a copy of
the FAFSA form and/or a copy of your FAFSA SAR (Student Aid Report) and a
500-word essay are required. The application is also available on this website:

**Girl Scout Scholarship
Applicants must be a currently registered with Girl Scouts of the USA, be a
member of Girl Scouts for 3 years including junior and senior years of high
school, a minimum GPA of 3.0, and be accepted to an accredited institution of
higher learning. Two letters of recommendation, an official transcript, the
acceptance letter from the college/university and a 500 word essay describing
Girl Scout leadership experiences are required.

**GV Ruritan Club Community Service Scholarship
To apply, you must be a Grand Valley senior with a GPA of 2.0 or higher planning
to attend a trade school, college or university. The application has 6 extended
response questions to answer and there is an interview.

**Jeffrey B. Meddock Memorial Scholarship
Pymatuning Valley seniors with a GPA of 2.0 that are planning to pursue an
associate degree or certificate program and seniors with a GPA of 2.7 pursuing a
traditional college degree that demonstrate perseverance and community pride
may apply. Applicants must submit a typed application that can be found on the
guidance link of the PVHS homepage, a copy of your transcript with the 7th
semester GPA and class rank, letters of recommendation, a copy of your
acceptance letter from a post-secondary institution or technical school and an
essay. Please see the application and website for details.

**J. Wendell Marvin Scholarship
Applicants must be a Pymatuning Valley senior that has been accepted as a fulltime student into a school of higher learning. A current transcript, the
completed typed application and a typed 250 word essay describing why you
deserve this scholarship and why you need financial assistance are required. All
materials must be submitted to the PVHS Guidance Office by 2:30 on April 10.

**Primary Health Network Charitable Foundation Scholarships
This foundation supports four different scholarships for students pursuing a
degree/certificate in an Administrative/Clinical healthcare field. Applicants must
have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and submit a 700-word essay. Applicants can only
apply for one of the four scholarships listed on the application. See the
application for specific requirements for each scholarship.

2015 Ruritans Scholarships
Pymatuning Valley seniors who will be attending an institution of higher learning
are eligible to apply. A list of community and extra-curricular scholastic activities,
a current high school transcript, a letter of acceptance to a higher institution of
learning and a short essay about yourself and why you feel you are deserving of
a scholarship package are required. There is no application but of copy of the
requirements is available in the A-Tech Resource Center.

**Melinda F. Smith Scholarship
Pymatuning Valley seniors that have been accepted to any institution of higher
education, including but not limited to college, technical school, trade school,
business school or nursing school. A 500 word essay stating your career goals
and how PVHS influences your life and what lessons from high school you will
take into your post-secondary career. Applicants must submit a copy of their
acceptance letter to an institution of higher learning and an updated transcript
with the application to Mr. Brown at PVHS by 2:30 on April 17.

**Gold Pride Scholarship
Pymatuning Valley seniors may apply. These items are required: your postsecondary acceptance letter or a fall schedule; current high school transcript and
most recent report card; a list of all extracurricular activities; a list of all sports
played at PVHS; a list of any academic honors you have earned; a list of
community services in which you have participated. A copy of the cover sheet
must be submitted with your scholarship materials and is available in the A-Tech
Resource Center.

**A-Tech Student Scholarship
A-Tech seniors with an overall GPA of 2.50 or better may apply. Applicants are
responsible to getting 3 letters of recommendation including one from their
career technical instructor and one from an academic teacher. Return the
letters and the completed application to your A-Tech counselor.

**A-Tech Teachers’ Association Scholarship
A-Tech seniors with an overall GPA of 3.0 or better may apply. Applicants are
responsible for getting 3 letters of recommendation including one from their
career technical instructor and one from an academic teacher. Return the letters
and the completed application to your A-Tech counselor.

**The Ruth Faehl Memorial Scholarship
Applicants must be seniors at Pymatuning Valley who have applied to or have
been accepted to an institution of higher learning that are planning to pursue
studies in fields relating to English, music or library science. A letter stating why
you are applying, your college plans and any information not covered in the
application form and your GPA are required.

**Jefferson Area Teachers’ Association (JATA) Scholarship
Applicants must be a senior from Jefferson Area HS with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
by the time of graduation. A copy of your transcript, three references and an
essay are required. All is due to the Jefferson HS Guidance Office by the April
30th due date.

**Jim Palaima Memorial Scholarship
A-Tech seniors enrolled in Auto Technology are eligible to apply. Applicants must
submit the completed application, a statement of career goals and why they are
an acceptable candidate for this scholarship, a transcript of all credits earned in
high school, 2 letters of recommendation and a head and shoulder photo.

**Lester C. Marrison Memorial Scholarship
A-Tech students enrolled in Power Equipment Technology, Carpentry, Masonry,
Electricity, Building & Grounds and Horticulture are eligible to apply. One award
will be given to an applicant enrolled in/attending a two- or four-year school of
technology related to the field of study. Two awards will be given to an A-Tech
student who is to be employed in a full-time position related to the field of
study. Applicants must submit the completed application, a statement of career
goals and why you would be an acceptable candidate, a transcript of all credits
earned in high school, 2 letters of recommendation and a head and shoulder
photo.

**James E. French Memorial Scholarship
A-Tech students in either Carpentry 1 or Carpentry 2 or Welding 1 are eligible to
apply. Applicants must submit the completed application, a one-page essay, a
transcript of all credits earned in high school, 2 letters of recommendation and a
head and shoulder photo.

*Tim Swalley Memorial Scholarship
Applicants must be enrolled in Carpentry 1 at A-Tech. Two awards will be given
to be used either for tools or class fees. The completed application, a one-page
essay, a transcript of all credits earned in high school, 2 letters of
recommendation and a head and shoulder photo are required.

Cherry Valley Mothers Club Scholarship
Pymatuning Valley seniors that plan to attend a two- or four-year college,
vocational, technical or business school may apply. Applicants must submit a
separate sheet that includes: their name, address, parents’ name, number of
family members in college, other scholarships received, the school you plan to
attend, a current transcript and any other pertinent information. A 250 word
essay about your plans, goals and why you think you should receive the
scholarship is required. Please include the cover sheet with these materials to
the PVHS Guidance Office by May 1st – it is available in A-Tech’s Resource Center.

**Ashtabula Lions Club Harris-Dean Memorial Scholarship
Lakeside, Edgewood, St. John, Jefferson and A-Tech seniors are eligible to apply
if they will be a full-time student at an accredited college or university. A copy of
the 7-semester transcript, ACT or SAT results and the Family Financial Data page
(included with the application) are required.

**William H. Searcy Memorial Scholarship
Applicants must be from one of the public school in Ashtabula County; be
enrolling in an approved program for the preparation of teachers; be in the top
25% of his/her graduating class; be of sound character; demonstrate aboveaverage achievement on college entrance exams; and demonstrate involvement
in extracurricular and community service. The completed application, an official
transcript, two letters of reference and an essay are required. See the

**2015 Ashtabula County Agricultural Scholarships
Seniors enrolled in either an accredited four-year college or an accredited twoyear technical institute may apply. An official transcript including the 1st
semester of the senior year, two letters of recommendation, a photo and the

**The Harbor in the Storm Foundation Scholarship
Pymatuning Valley seniors with a GPA of 2.7 or higher may apply. The completed
application, current transcript with 7th semester grades and an essay (minimum
of 200 words) explaining your financial need and future goals must be given to
Mr. Brown by May 1, 2015.

**The Preston Family Annual College Scholarship
Seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher that are planning to attend a non-profit
college or university are eligible to apply. Applicants must submit the completed
application, a current transcript, 2 letters of recommendation from the 2
references you list on the application, and a typed 0ne-page response to: “What
does this scholarship mean to me?” – Please include educational goals and
objectives.

**Americans of Italian Heritage Scholarship
Applicants must be a high school senior with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, have at least
one parent of Italian descent, be a well-rounded student that can demonstrate
dedication and commitment to continuing your education and you must
demonstrate a financial need. Applicants must submit an official transcript and a
copy of the current Official Financial Aid Award Letter from the school you will

Residents of Ashtabula County age 17 and older enrolled as a high school senior
(or a high school graduate ) planning to pursue post-secondary school studies in
the health field such as nursing, dental, x-ray/lab technician, pharmacy, etc.

Applicants must be a current or former athlete at the high school or college
level. A 500-word essay describing how the lessons you have learned through
playing sports have positively impacted you as you pursue your college

The Ohio War Orphans Scholarship
This program awards tuition assistance to the children of deceased or severely
disabled Ohio veterans who served in the armed forces during a period of
declared war or conflict. A student must be enrolling for full-time undergraduate
