Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas The DMS Student Council is sponsoring the community service project, Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas, to raise money for Country Santa. The money raised will be used to purchase gifts for underprivileged children in Pickens County. The contest will take place from Tuesday, November 11 through Friday, November 21. Each contestant will collect money, a penny a vote, during this time. The girl that turns in the most money will be crowned Miss Merry Christmas. The boy that turns in the most money will be crowned Mr. Merry Christmas. Each winner will receive a crown, a sash and will be featured in the school yearbook. They will also have the opportunity to ride in the Dacusville Christmas parade as Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas and to go shopping with Student Council to purchase toys for Country Santa. Below are the guidelines / requirements to participate in this activity. If you decide to run for Mr. or Miss Merry Christmas, bring the signed intent form to Mrs. Looper or Nurse Bowers and pick up your collection jar. Mr.and Miss Merry Christmas Guidelines / Requirements -Collect money from November 11-21 -A collection jar will be provided for each contestant. Contestants are responsible for keeping up with their jars during the contest. All jars and money must be turned in by 3:30 to Mrs. Looper on Friday, November 21. -Your picture will be taken to put on your jar when you return the signed intent form. -You will be given the opportunity to meet with student council members to shop for Country Santa on December 13 at 9:30 am at Walmart in Easley. -The winner may participate in the Dacusville Christmas parade as Dacusville Middle School’s Mr. or Miss Merry Christmas. Student Council will pay the entry fee, but Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas are responsible for arranging their own transportation and banner for the parade. -The winner is expected to abide by the dress code standards and school rules when representing DMS as Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas. - The winner’s picture will appear in the DMS yearbook as Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas. I have read the guidelines for this community service project and agree to up-hold them. I understand that as a candidate, I will represent DMS and will be expected to abide by the dress code standards and school rules when performing my duties as Mr. or Miss Merry Christmas. If I choose to participate in the Dacusville Christmas Parade I agree to provide my own transportation and banner for the parade.
