a) Sandifer/Vaught: Conduct a Public Hearing. The motion carried 8-0.
b) Sandifer/Pflumm: Conclude the Public Hearing. The motion carried 8-0.
c) Vaught/Sandifer: Consider approving the 2015 Revised Budget as shown in the
Notice of Public Hearing. The motion carried 6-2 with Councilmembers Pflumm
and Jenkins voting no.

CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING TO ADOPT THE 2016 BUDGET.

Motions:
a) Pflumm/Vaught: Conduct a Public Hearing. The motion carried 8-0.
b) Pflumm/Vaught: Conclude the Public Hearing. The motion carried 8-0.
c) Jenkins/Pflumm: Consider adopting a Resolution approving an increase in
property tax revenues over the amount levied to finance the 2016 Budget. If
approved, a Resolution number will be assigned. The motion carried 8-0.
Having passed, Resolution No. 1760 was assigned.
d) Vaught/Neighbor: Consider approving the 2016 Budget and the corresponding
projects and programs as shown in the attached memo from the June 16, 2015
Council Committee meeting, and setting the total taxing authority at $18,841,561
and directing staff to publish the Notice of Vote. The motion carried 5-3 with
Councilmembers Pflumm, Jenkins and Kemmling voting no.
3.
CONSIDER FINAL PLANS FOR JOHNSON DRIVE AND WOODLAND INTERSECTION
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, P.N. 3399.
Motion:
Sandifer/Pflumm: Consider approving final plans and authorizing staff to proceed
with construction bidding. The motion carried 8-0.

CONSIDER SUP-06-15-07; THE SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR BOBBI HUNT, TO OPERATE A
GROUP DAYCARE FOR UP TO TEN CHILDREN, IN THE PLANNED SINGLE-FAMILY ZONING
DISTRICT, LOCATED AT 5720 MARION STREET.
Motion:
Pflumm/Jenkins: Consider approving SUP-06-15-07 subject to the conditions in
the staff report. The motion carried 8-0.

CONVEYANCES OF LAND, OR AN INTEREST THEREIN FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES, FOR THE

CAENEN STREET AND 59TH STREET STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS, P.N. 3406
(SMAC TC-021-066).
Motion:
a) Jenkins/Neighbor: Consider approving and authorizing the Mayor to sign a
construction contract with Pyramid Excavation and Construction, Inc., Kansas City,
MO, in the amount of $787,711 for the Caenen Street and 59th Street Storm
Drainage Improvements, P.N. 3406, SMAC TC-21-066. The motion carried 8-0.
b) Sandifer/Kenig: Consider accepting conveyances of land, or an interest therein
for public purposes, contained in the nine easements identified on the Easement
Acquisition Summary Table for the Caenen Street and 59th Street Storm Drainage
Improvements, P.N. 3406, and authorizing staff to record the nine permanent
drainage and utility easements with the Johnson County Register of Deeds. The
motion carried 8-0.
c) Jenkins/Plfumm: Consider approving and authorizing the Mayor to sign two
Storm Drainage Easement and Utility Easement Conveyance documents for the
city owned parcel identified on the Easement Acquisition Summary Table for
Caenen Street and 59th Street Storm Drainage Improvements, P.N. 3406 and
authorizing staff to record these two permanent drainage and utility easements
with the Johnson County Register of Deeds. The motion carried 8-0.

a) Pflumm/Neighbor: Consider approving and authorizing the Mayor to sign a
construction contract with Blue Nile Contractors, Inc. of Claycomo, MO, in the
amount of $764,009 for the 60th Terrace and Earnshaw Street Storm Drainage
Improvement, P.N. 3407, SMAC TC-21-067. The motion carried 8-0.
b) Pflumm/Jenkins: Consider accepting conveyances of land, or an interest therein
for public purposes, contained in the eight easements identified on the Easement
Acquisition Summary Table for the for the 60th Terrace and Earnshaw Street
Storm Drainage Improvement, P.N. 3407, and authorizing staff to record the eight
permanent drainage and utility easements with the Johnson County Register of
Deeds. The motion carried 8-0.
