Dr. Maroba Zoeller called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. welcoming all
members and thanking them for their participation.
She introduced Lisa Casto, Director of Professional Development, who presented
the Professional Development Plan for 2014-15. Annual approval of next year’s
plan is a requirement of DIPC. Dr. Zoeller called for a show of hands to indicate
approval of the 2014-15 Professional Development Plan for Allen ISD.
Dr. Zoeller offered a Strategic Plan Update, which summarized the actions
completed and reported to the Strategic Plan Committee on April 4th. Six Action
Plans were assigned to Year One; three of those were reported “completed.”
Three of those will be continuing to Year Two, with three assigned to begin Year
Two, and two plans assigned to begin in Year Three. An annual report of progress
will be made to the Strategic Plan Committee and reported to DIPC.
The Commissioner’s Final Decisions on Accountability were presented by
Dr. Zoeller in a powerpoint with a one-page handout to summarize. She
explained that the Commissioner takes recommendations from the Accountability
Development Committee, but makes the final decisions regarding what will be
included in the Accountability System for 2014. Some of the changes include:
continuing the Phase-In at Level II Satisfactory as meeting standard and addition
of postsecondary readiness in the lower grades for Index 4. Ratings will be
released in August and districts and campuses will either be Met Standard or
Improvement Required. Districts are eligible for Distinction Designation for
Postsecondary Readiness. Campuses are eligible in: Student Progress – Closing
Performance Gaps; Academic Achievement – Reading/ELA, Mathematics, Science,
Social Studies. Districts and campuses are only eligible for Distinction if they have
Met Standard accountability rating.
Several members were recognized for three years of service to DIPC. Those
members are: Toni Vincent, Carl Clemencich, Brian Halvorson, Marlene
Harbeson, Mary Higdon, Kari Laney, Jeffrey Miranda, and Jaime Thomasco
A required evaluation survey will be sent via email to all DIPC members.
