3.
Progress since last meeting
3.1
Meeting with Miller Homes
Jon Bailey and Matthew Craven met with Miller Homes on 14 December 2011.
(See notes). There were some key issues/actions arising from this meeting as
follows:
3.1.1 Miller Homes need an idea of the lighting rig so that they can install a
strong enough roof beam to carry it.
3.1.2 We are able to have an electric range cooker but because this would be
approximately £800 more expensive it may require us to contribute. WI may
prefer two standard cookers.
3.1.3 Stage – Miller Homes will consider building one for us and we need to
provide them with the dimensions – approximately the size of stage in current
Village Hall.
3.2
Grant Applications
Alan Hickman (History Club) attended the meeting to give advise as he, along
with Dean Roots, when through a similar process with the History Club. Alan
agreed to help with finding out who was granted money in the past year. This
should help with targeting our applications. Alan also suggested we should ask
for as much as possible and not just for what we think we can get.

3.5.3 Parish Council – The residue funds from Gringley Tennis Club of £320.00
3.5.4 Alan Hickman said that some of the profits from the History Club Book
may be passed to the New Community Centre fund. Many thanks to Alan.

Reports from Sub-Committees
4.1
Steering
Nothing to report.
4.2
Building and Fixtures
Modular stage sections to extend stage built by Millers. Costs and Dimensions
required.
The questions was asked as to whether a loop system was required for the hard
of hearing and if, indeed, one was needed. It was agreed to look into the cost in
the first instance.
A lockable cleaning utensils cupboard required. Decision needs to be made as to
where it would be located – possibly the kitchen?
