We are searching for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our Medical team as
Manager Quality and Infection Prevention & Control
Based in Hong Kong, at our Asia Pacific Headquarter and reporting to the Senior Director Clinical
Quality Medical Affairs AP, this role will be responsible to enhance the quality of care in the
assigned sub-regions/countries by providing guidance, subject matter expertise and support.
This role also acts as liaison between hemodialysis clinics and management to ultimately
achieve accreditation of all FMC-AP dialysis clinics and other medical institutions operated by
FMC-AP.
Key Areas of Responsibilities in Detail:
In collaboration with the Senior Director Clinical Quality, other team members, the incumbent
will implement strategies to meet required objectives for the allocated areas of responsibility:
Coordination of Documentation Control:

Communicates and facilitates implementation of FMC-AP Clinical, Quality & Management
Directives and reviews country specific policies and work instructions for approval.

Ensuring developed and implemented documents are listed on the appropriate registers
and that they reflect current best practices and are compliant with FMC-Asia Pacific
directives.

Ensuring all documents are appropriately managed with a register and version control
and wherever possible uploaded onto the intranet and clinics are notified of all new
documents.

Reviews health records as necessary to assess and evaluate the appropriateness of care
and treatment
Coordination of The FMC-AP Risk Management Program:

Facilitate an effective communication process between the quality team, country and
facility management to ensure communication of FMC-AP corporate initiatives,
directives and adverse event reporting.

Implement, review & ensure the FMC-AP incident management system is in place and
incidents and documented, reported and trended

Implement and maintain the FMC-AP Medical Affairs risk register ensuring risk
assessment and management plans for identified risks have been documented and
reviewed.
Coordination of the Safety and Quality Improvement Program

Develops and implements programs and Directives based on best practices in
collaboration with corporate FMC-AP, Sub-Regions/Countries and Dialysis Clinics and
associated business & clinic staff.

Collaborates with both Clinical and Business services including country Managing
Directors, NephroCare Managers, Directors of Nursing, Quality-IP&C Managers,
Operation Managers, Medical Staff, HR, IT and other team members to develop quality
programs and processes and to implement action plans achieve corporate quality goals.




Develops and implements Clinical Quality related educational materials for pertinent
staff to assist them in achieving FMC-AP quality goals and standards.
Develops quality programs by utilizing outcomes from data collection and auditing
activities.
Develop educational materials and audit tools for Clinical Manager and Sub-Regional
Quality/IP&C Managers in line with the Quality framework.
Develop quality improvement plans when expected clinical outcomes are not met.
Management of an Infection Prevention and Control Program

Managing the Infection Prevention and Control Champions/Link Nurses program
including meetings, education and schedule of activities.

Prepare, collate and report on IP&C audits

Implement & monitor the dialysis clinics surveillance and infection rates and follow up
on identified issues.

Implement and Manage the Hand Hygiene Program by undertaking/overseeing staff
training, audits and competencies.

Monitor blood and body fluid exposure incidents and follow up as required.

Prepare an annual report on blood and body fluid exposure and distribute to senior
management both AP & country levels.

Actively participate in the Asia Pacific Infection Prevention and Control Committee
meetings.

Develop and update IP&C directives and forms and ensure they reflect current best
practices.

Provide consultation on infection risk assessment, prevention and control strategies
Partnering with internal and external clients to coordinate service and foster high
trust relationships to achieve strategic and operational Clinical Quality and
Infection Prevention & Control objectives
 Liaises with Senior Director Clinical Quality to ascertain strategic direction and optimal
operational methods
 Collaborates with other functional areas in the organization to ensure synergy
 Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in communication with various regions within Asia
Pacific
 Appropriately utilizes electronic, face to face and hard copy media based on local
requirement
Strengthening of the link between research and clinical practice by facilitating the
understanding and application of research and evidence based practice.
 Reviews existing research evidence and provides expert opinion to determine effective
application in a practice environment
 Identifies possible research opportunities within the renal services network supports
regional initiatives
 Provides input to Nephrology Nursing Board activities contributing to positive outcomes
for clients, care providers, and the health care organization
Maintaining currency of knowledge and expertise in the designated functional areas
of Quality and Infection Prevention and Control.
 Maintains & updates own knowledge in relation to Quality and Infection Prevention and
Control.
 Participates in the operational planning of the organization regional and corporate
scientific, medical and research groups
 Avails and utilizes personal, corporate and other resources to maintain up-to-date
knowledge of all aspects of treatment of end-stage renal disease
 Participates in one or more courses in formal education and functional area related
conferences to advance knowledge and qualifications
Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:



Registered Nurse/allied health professional/pharmacist or possessing similar health
qualifications
Relevant post-graduate in nephrology, health care management, quality, infection
prevention and control or business related field
3-5 years’ experience in healthcare environment with min 2 years in management level




Knowledge of hemodialysis and experience in implementing and supporting teams in
infection prevention and control activities
Extensive experience in Public Speaking and delivering education
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
