Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s): August 22, 2014

M.L. King, Jr. Middle School school has been identified as a Focus school. As a Focus school, Title I will assist our school in implementing a specific program, along with interventions, based on our school status. This program is called the Flexible Learning

Program .

Title I Focus Schools-Title I Student Eligibility - 10 percent of Title I Schools throughout

Georgia.

Focus Schools will be identified every three years and the identified school will be served for three years through a Flexible Learning Program (FLP) with support interventions . These schools are Title I participating high schools with a graduation rate less than 60 percent over two years; or Title I school that has the largest within-school gaps between the highest-achieving subgroup or subgroups and the lowest-achieving subgroup or subgroups, or at the high school level, has the largest within-school gaps in graduation rates (within-school-gaps Focus School).

Focus Schools will be required to develop and implement Flexible Learning Programs (FLP).

Beginning June 2012, your student will be served with support interventions for three years.

With your input, our school plans to implement the M. L. King, Jr. Middle School Jaguar
