Dear Colleagues,
It is that time of year again when we meet for Presbyteral Synod, a time of worship,
fellowship and the opportunity to share in an Act of Recollection, dedicating
ourselves again to the ministry of the Church and the world.
This year the Synod will be held on Wednesday 11 March 2015 at Marlborough
Road Methodist Church, Marlborough Road, Banbury, OX16 5BZ, starting at
10.00am. Travel directions are attached.
The Banbury Circuit is made up of a mixture of rural/village chapels surrounding the
large Methodist Church at Marlborough Road. Marlborough Road Church is this year
celebrating its 150th anniversary of mission and witness in Banbury and lots of
events are being planned. It is also exploring its future mission and use for its
building. The Street Pastors are based at this church. There are strong Churches
Together groups throughout the Circuit with united services and a shared mission
within the villages.
There is very limited parking at the church itself. There are some disabled driver
parking spaces in the street adjacent to the church, by the Library and there is a
NCP car park behind the church, current fees are £3.60 a day.
Refreshments will be available from 9.30am, during lunchtime and at the close of the
day. Please bring your own lunch and drinks will be available.
If any member of Synod would appreciate a crèche being available we will seek to
provide this, please notify us by the end of February, indicating the age of the
child(ren).
