Approval Process (2-Year Timeline)

Curriculum Committee
Academic Dean
Academic Curriculum Review and Evaluation System (ACRES) – Chief Academic Officer (CAO) - Program Specific Acrreditation (If Necessary)
Governing Board consent agenda
Director of Accreditation and Quality Initiatives submits to Higher Learning Commission (HLC) reviewer to determine forms needed; For programs
similar to CAC programs or not requiring substantial allocation of financial investment or resources , HLC Annual Institutional Data Update (AIDU)
approves credentials (Spring only) and permits Advising/Marketing to begin immediately
Academic Team completes HLC forms and Director of Accreditation and Quality Initiatives submits to Higher Learning Commission
HLC approves; HLC Institutional Actions Council (IAC) approves (If significantly new CAC program areas OR alllocation of substantial financial
investment or resources)
Director of Accreditation and Quality Initiatives submits HLC approved list of credentials to CAO
CAO informs CAC District
