Delivering college level courses for students pursuing an AA degree in Process Technology. Also did independent contract work for Lone Star College to deliver Industry based Training. My employer (HCC supervisor) will give a letter of my work performance at the college. Nov 2005 – Dec – 2012 – Training Manager for Bechtel Overseas operations. Assigned to the project originally in UAE, Manager of Training for two large LNG projects in Habshan and ASAB – meeting all contractual training requirements and interacting with both the client and different vendors. Completed contract and was sent to Qatar to manage the Qatar International Airport project – training for all personnel. Next assignment was in Batangas, Phillipines. Directed a staff of 8 people and managed the entire training requirements for Bechtel. Aug 2004 – Nov 2005 – HR / HSE and Training Manager for KBR. Was stationed in Iraq to support US troops and to implement Training for KBR and US military. I was assigned to instruct in Manager/Supervisor Training for KBR personnel. When my first contract was completed, they asked me to take over as HSE Manager over the ‘G’ sites – where I managed 6 different locations and a staff of 16 full time and 30 part time people. May 1998 – Aug 2004 – College professor / Dept. Chairman for San Jacinto College – designed the Process Technology program to meet Texas state requirements to issue an AA degree. Managed the Process Technology and Instrumentation departments. Had a staff of 8 full time and 16 part time employees. Designed the course to meet Texas state requirements for issuance of an AA degree. Aug 1991 – Nov 1994 – KSA - Independent contractor – working for SADAF – a chemical complex in KSA (Saudi Arabia) in Al-Jubail. I designed and implemented both technical, HR and HSE training programs and interacted with the client company to design training programs. Feb 1975 – May 1991 – Plant Superintendent – Union Carbide, Texas City, Texas. Was responsible for the entire plant operations, HSE compliance, personnel. I was the Emergency Director and responsible for the entire 540 acre multi-unit chemical complex along with a 460 acre marine terminal. There were 1,500 people working for UCC during this period. Duties included being in charge of the entire plant operations and handling all emergency situations, including communications with state and local officials. During this period I attended and received accreditation for Hazmat, Emergency Mangement, Fire/Rescue Training, EMT, Hazwoper, RCRA, ISO, SARA, Waste Management, Air / Water Quality – Texas. 1968-1975 – Process Operator – AMOCO Chemicals Education University of Houston Clear Lake – graduated 1986 – B.S. University of Houston Clear Lake – graduated 1990 – M.A. Other Accreditation Texas A&M Univ and Lamar Univ – certification in: Hazmat, Hazwoper, Emergency Management, Fire/Rescue, EMT, RCRA, ISO-9000, Hazardous Waste Management, Waste Water Treatment, OSHA authorized Trainer for OSHA 10 hr and OSHA 30 hr. I recently finished and received my OSHA authorized OSHA-10 hr and OSHA – 30 hr Trainer. Accomplishments 1984 – While working for College of the Mainland, in Texas City, I was contracted by GDC to write a book for Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) for process operations. The book was purchased by ADNOC and is titled ‘Refinery Processes’. I met with and interacted with ADNOC senior staff. During his presidency, President Bill Clinton came to San Jacinto College, where he met with me to discuss Technology and the training of American students. I took three of my students with me and showed him the control systems (TDC3000) simulation along with explaining the program. He understood the challenges facing US industry in the world of competition in petrochemicals. Personal Married to Margarita, have two grown sons and three step-daughters, five grandchildren. My hobbies include: fishing, carpentry. I am of the Catholic faith. I am a USN veteran (1961-1965), served during the Vietnam war and received an honorable discharge. I am in excellent health, have a wealth of world travel and work experiences and fit in well with diverse groups and work situations.
