RFP for Fiber Upgrade for Montevideo Public Schools Montevideo Public Schools is requesting a competitive quote for installation of a single mode, direct bury, 12 strand, dielectric fiber optic cable and 14 gauge locating wire between the southeast side of Sanford Elementary School located at 412 South 13th Street, Montevideo, MN and the northwest side of the Montevideo Senior High School located at 1501 William Avenue, Montevideo, MN. This job will require the following: Installation of (2) 2” 13.5 SDR EMT conduit with the above mentioned cable installed in one of the EMT and the other being left for future use – both with ropes inside for pulling future cable. The distance of the directional bore to take place between the two buildings is approximately 950 feet. The depth of the bore shall be no less than 45” and no more than 60” at any point along the path. (1) hand hole shall be installed at each end of the bore/outside each building (total of 2 handholes). The handholes shall be fiberglass reinforced polymer rated for alley traffic (20 ton) and 30x48x36 in size. Installation at the Montevideo Senior High School involves mounting a locate pedestal and ground rod, core drilling into the building, installation of 1 riser consisting of schedule 80 PVC on the outside of the building and approximately 450 feet of cable installation above the false ceiling (non-plenum) enclosed in conduit to the Main Distribution Facility (MDF) at the Montevideo Senior High School. Installation at the Sanford Elementary School end also involves core drilling into the building, installing 1 riser consisting of schedule 80 PVC on the outside of the building, and routing the cable into the existing equipment rack located directly on the other side of the wall from the bore starting point. All fibers shall be terminated in the existing rack mounted panels. Standard OTDR testing shall be conducted with results provided at completion of installation. The path shown in the map accompanying this document indicates the route of installation. The installation shall take place between July 1, 2016 and July 29, 2016. All work shall be completed by July 39, 2016. A penalty of $50 per day shall be deducted from the total cost of the project for each business day the work is not completed after July 29, 2016. The proposal must have the cost for the installation of the second future use EMT listed as a separate line item, as it is not an e-rate eligible item.
