11th ANNUAL NORTH SHORE TREASURES FEATURES RETURNING FAVORITE APPRAISERS
Uncover the values of antique and collectible items at
Plaza del Lago’s annual appraisal event
Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WILMETTE, Ill. (Aug.12, 2014)─Plaza del Lago invites members of the community to its annual
North Shore Treasures event to appraise collectibles and antiques, all while raising money and
awareness for a worthy cause, the Les Turner ALS Foundation.
Plaza del Lago’s North Shore Treasures appraisal event is an annual tradition on the
North Shore, now celebrating its 11th year. For a $10 per item* suggested donation, area
residents can find out just how much those estate sale bargains and passed-down items are
worth. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 13th, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Because North Shore Treasures has become such a draw in the community, Plaza del
Lago is bringing its traditional two appraisers back once again. Returning this year is Daniel
Buck Soules, who appeared for 11 years as an independent appraiser in Decorative Arts and
Collectibles on the PBS television program “Antiques Roadshow.” Also returning is Alison
Neumann, a well-respected Chicagoland jewelry appraiser whose expertise has assisted The
Field Museum of Chicago’s Grainger Hall of Gems. Together, these two experts will be able to
appraise everything from jewelry to paintings and beyond.

“The Les Turner ALS Foundation is extremely excited to have been selected as the
beneficiary of the North Shore Treasures event at Plaza del Lago again this year. This
partnership will increase awareness of the Foundation, ALS and also highlight the committed
community support of all who participate. We are grateful for the support of Plaza del Lago and
appraisers Alison Neumann and Daniel Buck Soules and are looking forward to the event in
September,” said Megan Gaffney, special events associate at the Les Turner ALS Foundation.
