EVENT
At least 30 days prior to the intent to install an Aboveground Storage Tank (AST), an
Application for Installation or Upgrade of Pollutant Storage Tank Systems with payment
must be submitted to EPC.
Contractor can fill out the application since he/she will have the specifics for the tank.
Contractor is to sign the application where required; the University will sign as the Owner.
Along with this application, the Engineer of Record submits the Storage Tank Facility
Registration Form (Florida Statute 62-761.900(2)) to EPC.
Anticipate 10 to 14 days for EPC / DEP respond with comments and EPC to provide notice as
to the acceptability of the application; and if accepted will authorize the installation of the tank;
no fueling is to occur at this time.
EPC will in turn send the Registration Form to the DEP.
DEP will then invoice the owner their required fee.
After both installation and receipt of the Registration Placard from DEP have occurred, a
request for an inspection made to EPC representative at least 72 hours prior to the intent to
fuel the tank.
EPC will inspect the installation and if all required aspects are found satisfactory will authorize
filling the tank with fuel.
No fueling is permitted without the Registration Placard in place.
USF PPD will then assume operation and maintenance responsibilities for the installation and
proceed with the monthly logs and annual recertification(s).
