Transfer to Aberfoyle Lodge, woodland birding en route Drive to Aberfoyle Lodge in the Honde Valley, Miombo woodland birding en route. Afternoon birding (timepermitting) around the lodge. Depart after breakfast for Mozambique, entering Mozambique through the Forbes Border Post, Mutare. Travel via Chimoio and Inchope to M’Phingwe Camp near Caia. Overnight: M’Phingwe Camp, Catapu Days 9 – 10. Birding M’Phingwe Camp and surrounds Two days spent birding in woodlands and lowland forests, among them the renowned Coutada 12. Travel via Gorongosa town to Gorongosa Aventuras camp at the entrance to Gorongosa National Park. Afternoon birding at Gorongosa Aventuras. Overnight: Gorongosa Aventuras Day 12. Birding the Gorongosa area Early morning ascent of Mt. Gorongosa, returning to camp around lunchtime, The rest of the day spent birding in Miombo woodland around Gorongosa Aventuras.
