I hope to be instrumental in the development and education of the next generation of nurses by becoming
a leader and professional mentor for nursing students and faculty. As a seasoned professional nurse, I
hope to contribute to health care and the profession of nursing through leadership, assisting professional
development of faculty and contributing to the education of the novice nurse. In keeping with the vision
of the Institute of Medicine, I strive for our graduates to become competent and professional nurses,

Developed and initiated a Lactation Program for the hospital, including
educational resources for patients, families and the professional staff.
We now have three full time lactation consultants; we have 7 day/ week
coverage to maintain continuity of care.
I am the hospital resource for the medical and nursing staff for infant feeding,
specific nutritional issues, and management of outpatient feeding problems.

Acquired Disorders of the Newborn, Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn,

Presented a lecture on Breastfeeding in the NICU for 4 years for the Masters
in Nursing students for Women’s Health- 2003,2004, 2005, & 2007
Fast Track Breastfeeding Conference/East Metro Health District (2000-2008)
 Served on the planning committee for a large Southeastern breastfeeding
conference for 10 years. Each year 120-160 people attended including MD’s,
RN’s, IBCLC’s, Wic employees, dieticians.
