What’s New on FamilySearch Family Tree
1. Private Spaces
Take few minutes to explore your Private Space on Family Tree. Log on to FamilySearch.org and
sign in. Go to Family Tree. Click on your own name and then Person. Notice the yellow banner
for Private Person.
Explore your private page.
Click Memories. You can add photos, stories and audio files. See what appears when you click
Ordinances. Notice that there are no Record Hints and if you click Search Records, you will not
find any records about yourself.
2. Audio File Upload to Memories on Family Tree
Remember you can add audio files from either the person page (Click Memories and scroll
down to Audio and then Add.) or from the FamilySearch home page (Use the drop down menu
under Family Tree and click Audio.). Audio files are tagged the same way as photos. To see
more detailed instructions start from the Add Audio page, go to Get Help in the upper right
corner and click Questions and Answers. Under frequently asked questions, click Adding Audio
in Memories. Here is a link:

3. Record Hints
Go to an ancestor on Family Tree who has record hints. Click on one of the hints, check to see it
is actually for your ancestor, view the image and attach the hint.

4. Index to Find A Grave
Look for an ancestor who has a record hint for the Find A
Grave index. Click Review and Attach and then click Image
and Visit Partner Site. This will open up a new window at Find
A Grave.
5. Descendancy View





Go to an ancestor in Family Tree.
From the person page of that ancestor, click View Tree and then
select View: Descendancy.
Explore how to expand to show more generations.
Under Show, uncheck the Portraits to show more
of the descendants.
Check out the icons that assist while in the descendency view.

6. Mobile Apps
The FamilySearch Tree app allows you to navigate through your ancestors using
the pedigree or detail views, including photos, stories, and audio for that
specific ancestor.
The FamilySearch Memories app makes collecting, preserving, and sharing your
favorite family memories (photos, stories, and spoken words) easy and
convenient wherever you are.
The FamilySearch Tree and Memories apps are available for iOS devices through the Apple App
store.

Find App Store in your app list on your device.
Search for FamilySearch.
Tap FamilySearch in the list.
Tap Get and install next to FamilySearch—Tree or FamilySearch Memories.
If requested, enter the appropriate password for the iTunes store.
