Death notice of Fr. Claude Paul Albert, TOR

It is with deep regret that we announce the death of our brother
FR. CLAUDE PAUL ALBERT, TOR
Fr. Claude Paul was born on the 5th December, 1928, in Rambouillet, France (Diocese
of Versaille). He was the son of Paul Albert and Julia Azam. His baptismal name was Paul,
after his father.
In 1944 he entered the postulant program of the Franciscan Friars in the Diocese of
Albi. On the 14th of September 1948 he was received into the novitiate at Notre Dame de la
Drêche and was given the religious name of Claude. Due to the political situation in France,
he withdrew to fulfill his obligatory military service. He was readmitted into the novitiate on
the 3rd of October 1055, again at Notre Dame, professing first vows on the 4th of October
1956.
While still in formation in philosophy at the University of Toulouse and the Pontifical
University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome, he became a member of the
Third Order Regular of Saint Francis, Province of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin
Mary, France. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1958.
After many pastoral assignments in France, Fr. Claude volunteered for the missions in
Brazil in 1964. In Guajará Mirim with Dom Gerald Verdier, Fr Claude labored for the good
people of Brazil. He was also assigned to Cotia, São Paulo in the Regiao da Brasilandia.

Restricted by poor health, Fr. Claude lived in assistant living at Saint Camille in São Paulo,
where is returned to the Father on the 3rd of September 2014 in the 58th year of his religious
profession.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace.

General Statutes.
