Supply and Delivery of Waste Services Equipment – Answers to Queries
Question1 In reference to the spec on APPENDIX 3 it says ‘’18 Cubic yard
containers suitable for use with Roll-On roll off loader.’’
However on page 3 it says Lot 3: 18 x Roll on Roll off containers (20 sq.yard).
If you convert 18 cubic yard to cubic metres that would be 13m3 which means you
cant have a length of 6000mm which is what you have asked for on the spec. Its not
physically possible.
Perhaps if you specified how many cubic metres the container should be it would be
easier to understand what size would make be compatible.
Please can you check this as we are not sure what size you are after. It seems there
has been an input error between the quantity and the size of the container you want.
Answer
Lot 3 refers to 18 x Roll on Roll off containers - The quantity of
containers required is 18 and they are 20 sq.yard.
Question 2 The other question is on LOT 3, you have not specified if the container
should be enclosed or open top style, please clarify?
Answer
Lot 3 – It is preferred that the containers are open top style.
Question 3 Also just needed to ask, do you have offloading facilities at your end or
do we need to send a hi-ab vehicle to crane off the equipment?
Also please confirm if the delivery site for all this equipment is the following:
Derry City & Strabane District Council
Council Offices
98 Strand Road
Derry
BT48 7NN
Answer
The equipment will be delivered to Strathfoyle Household Recycling
Centre, Temple Road, Strathfoyle, Co. Derry, BT47 6TW
Council would hire in a machine to offload equipment.
Question 4 Please can you specify all the lots/appendix’s as the spec looks
muddled up.
Page 3 information doesn’t match some of the information given on the fully
detailed appendix section at the bottom pages of the tender spec. even the
quantities don’t match on page 3 and the bottom pages.
Please can this be re-written or clarified via email.
We would like to get the spec and quantities right before we quote.

Question 11 Section 3: Just to clarify, we manufacture skips and RoRo's. Are we
expected to price for products we don't supply eg. Brown Bins, Clothes Banks. If we
don't price these are we automatically excluded from the tender process?
Answer
Companies can price for all or any lots
Question 12 Also not all companies who make Static Compactors also make the
Compactor Containers. Can these Containers be priced separately? It would probably
work out cheaper for yourselves if this item was priced separately from the
compactors.
Answer
Companies can price for compactor containers separately.
Question 13 Could you please clarify what the difference is between the RoRo Paper
Banks in Lots 2 & 6 ?
Answer
Please note is appears Lot six has been entered by error and is to be
omitted
