MEXICAN CULTURE CAMP 2014 GOAL: The main objective of the cultural camp is to bring the different cultures that shape the Sacred Heart family into a common experience of mutual respect and understanding while learning about Mexico, its culture, music, handcrafts, food and the way we live the Sacred Heart Spirituality. DATES: June 16th – June 27th, 2014. Participants may arrive 2 days before the camp starts and leave 2 days after. AGES: Sacred Heart Students from 14 to 17 years old ACTIVITIES: Spanish, Mexican cuisine, Folkloric dance and handcrafts, cultural seminars, field trips. FEE: $300 USD, including meals, stationary and field trips. Insurance, medical treatment and allowance are not included. The fee payment will be during Registration, the first of the camp. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: March 14th, 2014 OTHERS: Local students from Instituto Mater Sagrado Corazón will be joining the camp. The participants will be staying with host families. The host family will take care of transportation on arriving and departing. The lunch will be prepared by the school when the schedule establishes, the rest will be taken cared of by the host family. The fee payment will be during Registration, the first day of the camp. The participants will be invited to make a 5-minute presentation to Mexican students during one of the regular classes. Please prepare for this before coming. 6. The participants will be asked to use the uniform of his/her school during the camp so please make sure to bring it. 7.
