These assessments occur more frequently than Acuity assessments. Data is displayed on classroom data walls and recorded in student data folders. Students are administered a pretest and posttest before each math chapter or topic. Educators report this short-cycle data shows students are learning key math concepts and skills that are being taught in classrooms. Students that are not proficient with concepts and skills, work with educators during learning support or receive tutoring after school. Literacy Literacy data shows the number of students reading at advanced on the middle of the year Fountas and Pinnell Reading Benchmark assessment has increased from just below 200 students to just above 250. Additional information regarding the Acuity assessment and the State of Missouri’s assessment that will be administered this spring: Educators and students have been working to adjust to the new test format and increased rigor of the revised Acuity assessment. The new format and increased rigor are necessary to align with the Missouri Learning Standards and Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) test that will be administered this spring to Grades 3-5. Adjusting has proven to be and continues to be a challenge. Educators and students have only become familiar with these new requirements this school year and are continuing to lean more as the school year progresses. With this in mind, educators began the year with Key Processes that would address the new challenges, but after Jim Shipley & Associates, Inc. July 2009 Rev. September 2011 Schofield Elementary 2014-2015 reviewing middle of the year data and new assessment format, these Key Processes have been further refined for both literacy and math.
