MAINTENANCE CONTROLLER
JOB SPECIFICATONS

Performs daily 24-hour continuing analysis and surveillance of MEL/CDL items, deferred items and
maintenance discrepancies for all aircraft in service. Determines that inoperative systems or components
cannot interact in such a way as to diminish flight safety or unduly increase crew workload. Enters
into the computer all MEL/CDL items.

Coordinates maintenance activities on aircraft delayed at line stations. Communicates with HAL flight
crews and line maintenance personnel, as well as outside maintenance contractors.
o
Provides flight crews with technical assistance and MEL/CDL release authority by telephone,
radio and/or electronic data transmission.
o
Monitors the status of the Fly Away Kit (FAK) and coordinates with SOCC to ensure the proper
FAK is on board the aircraft.

Responsible for notifying specific individuals throughout the organization of accidents/incidents, inflight engine shutdowns, aircraft damage, and in-flight emergency situations that result in a delay, trip
cancellation, or unscheduled diversion on any HAL aircraft.

Reports and documents all maintenance advisories as necessary and maintains required logs, turnover
reports, and technical reports as necessary.

Reviews the log page from any aircraft that has been involved in an incident that has resulted in
damage to the aircraft to ensure all corrective action has been documented and corrected in accordance
with the requirement of the HAL GMM and FARs.

Coordinates all unscheduled maintenance actions by assisting or coordinating the troubleshooting and
coordinates the movement of personnel, equipment and materials to ensure the maintenance activities
are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with all requirements of the HAL GMM and FARs.

Provide training on proper processes and procedures to new hire and TMD Maintenance Controllers.

Provide oversight to ensure proper procedures and processes are adhered to.

Responsible for assisting the Technical Services Supervisors in all phases of the operation.

Acts as a liaison between maintenance and HAL engineering during off-hour operations.
QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess FAA Airframe and Powerplant licenses.

Must be ETOPS qualified.

Must have 5 years experience in aircraft maintenance on the B717, B767, and A330 aircraft.

Must have formal and informal systems training and actual line experience with B717, B767, and
A330 aircraft, engines, electrical and avionics systems to include troubleshooting, use of maintenance
manuals, and FAA regulations.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be capable of conversing with all levels

Prepares proper documents and enters all necessary transactions in TRAX.

Stores all parts and material after ensuring proper packaging and labeling.

Processes outgoing material.

Assembles kits required for aircraft checks.

Performs monthly shelf life checks and physical inventory counts.

Must meet qualifications as required in lower level classifications.
QUALIFICATIONS:


Leads, directs, supervises and approves work of other employees under his/her direction. Required to

Performs all work required in repair, overhaul modification and maintenance of all types of trucks,
passenger cars, FMC, equipment of internal combustion gas or diesel engines, air & hydraulic brake
system, electrical system, front & rear suspension system and steering system in the GSE automotive
division. Trouble shooting, tune-up, repair of accessories, instruments, transmission and components.

Identifies, sources and orders parts from local and mainland vendors.

May be required to give instructions and training to employees in any position.
QUALIFICATIONS

Must have minimum of four (4) years work experience in automotive or related field.

Must be a graduate of automotive or heavy equipment schooling.

Must have a minimum of four (4) years in troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, hydraulic
systems, automatic transmission and all other aspects of ground equipment repair.

Must have general welding knowledge.

Pick-up and delivery of all cargo, including mail, express, baggage, freight Company material,
commissary supplies

Preparation, reporting and accounting of necessary documents relating to work performed

Cleaning of aircraft baggage pits and immediate work areas

Operation of automotive equipment in connection with the above duties, and only after proper training

Insert and remove chocks and safety lines

When mechanical personnel are not immediately available for the assignment, receive and dispatch
aircraft

May also be required to perform the duties of Cleaners: limited to cleaning of offices in surrounding
areas and aircraft. Such duties may be assigned only as the needs of the service require.
