 ProGrant application has already been submitted with a request of $12,000.
 Guest speakers presented at most CCCSC monthly meetings. These presented
provided rich experiences that helped to understand and be aware of what goes
on in schools.
 G. Prajza provided details on the roles of the OAPCE and Parish representatives
and explained how these create a link between families, school and church.
 Workshops and presentations were held at each Family of Schools throughout
the school year. These meetings provided a wonderful sharing of information
and networking.

with concerns related to Bill 13 & 14. A copy of this report was submitted to
CCCSC.
 Strategic planning for the upcoming school year will include OAPCE’s continued
effort to further develop parent engagement and outreach as well as
strengthening the link between home, school and church.
 The ICE survey, “Beyond Catholic Education” is almost ready and will be
launched in early Fall. Survey will be available online and links will be shared as
soon as available. This survey will attempt to identify the influence of Catholic
Education in the lives of Catholic Secondary School graduates.
4. SEAC Report – L. Eschli
 Trends in Suspension data from 2008-2011 in the categories of students receiving
varied special education services were presented. The data concluded that in the
majority of situations, student suspensions in these groups showed a downward
trend. Consideration of mitigating circumstances and positive supports being set
for these students have been major factors in the decrease of suspensions.
 Keeping individual students’ learning needs in mind has been the focus of the
Special Education Report in the CBLP.
 As part of the ProGrant funding, the translation of the Parent Guide is underway
and the last Parent Session for this school year, Parents Learning the Oelwein
Reading Strategy: A Strength-Based Approach, is scheduled for May 24th, 2012.
 Deadline for next year’s ProGrant application to the Ministry of Education is due
June 8, 2012.
 L. Eschli has been nominated for the CCCSC Volunteer of the Year Award.
 Presentation on behalf of Easter Seals Ontario provided much information on the
successes and the ability of the Association to assist many children with physical
disabilities (and their families) to reach their full potential. Easter Seals’ vision is
to become fully accessible in schools and classrooms.
