8th grade End of Year Events Committee
It is time to form the 8th grade End of Year Events Committee!!! Each year 8th grade parents
are asked to help plan the end of year celebrations for our students. There are 4 main events
that need to be planned and handled.
They are:
*The 8th grade picnic and yearbook signing party
*The 8th grade semi-formal dance
* The 8th grade t-shirt
*The 8th grade legacy gift for SMS

ATTENTION SALEM MIDDLE PARENTS
If you are interested in becoming a Salem Middle PTA Board member for the 2015-16 school
year, we want to hear from you! With few to no opportunities to volunteer in classrooms in a
middle school environment, many parents enjoy staying involved in their child’s education and
getting to know the staff and other parents through their role on a PTA Board. There are many
positions available that accommodate everyone with little time, or ample time, to give.
Please consider helping with President, VP Services, VP of Ways and Means, Directory, website,
SEIC Liaison, Grounds, Reflections, Staff Hospitality, Special Events Hospitality, Staff Appreciation,
Volunteer Awards, Volunteer Coordinator, Magazine Sales, Spirit Nights and Spirit Wear.
Training and support are provided for all positions-no experience necessary!
If you have any questions or would like additional information about any board positions, please
contact one of the following committee members below.

Did you know that Eva Perry Library and West Regional Library have programs just for teens in
grades 6-10? All teen programs at Eva Perry Library starts at 7:00pm on Thursdays and at West
Regina Library starts at 6:30pm on Tuesdays. Check out the teen events page at

upcoming activities including: Book Trivia (March 10), Minute to Win It (March 12), It’s not Easy

Reactivation for continuing Volunteers:
All volunteers approved for the 2013-14 school year MUST reactivate as a volunteer no later
than 4:00pm on October 31, 2014. Volunteers may go to any WCPSS site and register through
the intranet. After October 31, 2014, individuals previously approved may not volunteer without
a new criminal record check.
The volunteer system will be open daily for reactivation/registration through October 31, 2014.
From November 3, 2014 through May 18, 2015, the volunteer system will be open on Mondays
only, from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
