Lafferty Equipment Pump Fed Central System Planning Tool Worksheet Lafferty Equipment offers all of the equipment (except piping) required to complete the installation of a Pump Fed Central System for foam cleaning and/or sanitizing at Food & Beverage production plants. The purpose of this worksheet is to allow the user to obtain all of the required information before using the tool. The Pump Fed Central System Planning Tool will calculate and recommend: Pumping systems Draw pre-diluted (or ready-to-use chemical) from a storage tank and pressurize the piping system feeding the applicators. Dilution systems Accurately blend chemical concentrate and water and dispense it into a holding tank. Facility piping Know what size internal diameter piping is required to adequately supply the unit(s) furthest from the pumping system. Additional options Check valves, strainers, hose racks, etc. To make these calculations, the tool needs to know certain operating parameters based on your facility and the equipment you plan to use. This data will be entered into the planning tool settings. What type and quantity of applicators do you require? Browse Pump Fed Applicators in the Product section of the Lafferty website to learn which types of applicators will accomplish your cleaning goals. Examples: do you require high volume or low volume output? Is the chemical applied as foam or liquid spray? Will you use single function or multifunction applicators? Use the back of this sheet to note which applicators will be used, and how many of each type will be running at the same time. Is a rinse function desired? If so, what water pressure will be used? If no rinse is desired, leave default values (they will not affect other calculations). City water pressure? ____ PSI (Acceptable range is 35-125 PSI) Boosted water pressure? ____ PSI (Acceptable range is 125-350 PSI) High water pressure? ____ PSI (Acceptable range is 400-1000 PSI) What is the output pressure of the pumping system? Lafferty AODD Pumps are pre-set at 65 PSI. If you plan to use a Lafferty Pump, use the default value of 65 PSI. If you are using a different pump, enter the output pressure. Foaming Chemical A ____ PSI Foaming Chemical B ____ PSI Sanitizing Chemical ____ PSI If additional foaming or sanitizing chemicals are desired you will need to use the tool separately for each set of 3 chemicals (2 foam, 1 sanitize). How far is the furthest applicator from the pumping system? Typically the pumping system is located in a central chemical or equipment room alongside the dilution system. Distance from furthest unit FOAMING CHEMICAL A? ____ feet Distance from furthest unit FOAMING CHEMICAL B? ____ feet Distance from the furthest unit SANITIZING CHEMICAL? ____ feet When you’re ready, head to www.laffertyequipment.com/tools/pump-fed-central-system-planning/ and get started!
