Faculty of Engineering and Technology Overview Throughout history, the development of new technology has been absolutely vital for both human survival and human progress. We as a species constantly come across situations where our alternatives are either adaptation or survival and one of the main tools with which we adapt to changing conditions is with the discovery, engineering and implementation of new technologies. Engineering & Technology is the primary vehicle through which humanity progresses and in the future, technology could serve to eliminate much of the biggest problems facing us as a species such as world hunger, poverty, lack of access to education and other issues. Modern societies need people with scientific, engineering and technological qualifications at the highest level. As the youngest faculty of LCWU, we take pride in our accomplishments and quality of our programs. The department of Electrical Engineering offers PEC accredited program of Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with Electronics and Communication as areas of specializations. Currently no other female institution in Pakistan is facilitating the theoretical and practical instrumentation like LCWU. The department of Computer Science is another well established ISO-9001:2000 certified department which offers 4 years bachelors, 2 years MS and PhD programs. The faculty of Engineering & Technology is starting 5 years Bachelor of Architecture and 4 years Bachelor of City & Regional planning programs from current academic session. I would like the perspective students to browse through the relevant pages of the prospectus to get more insight about these programs. Faculty is our real strength. We are committed to further enhancing their research interests and engaging in outreach activities to provide best response to our national needs. Under the umbrella of various HEC funded development projects, every year we send a number of our faculty members for higher education and short-term scientific and research training in well reputed International universities. Our faculty endeavors to produce scientists and engineers who can play role in both practical and research areas of respective disciplines. The faculty strongly supports the idea of using modern technologies to enhance teaching and learning capabilities of the students. We continuously strive to update our curricula and lab facilities and thus enhance the learning environment at our faculty. No wonder, therefore, that our students achieve excellent overall results and majority of our students get selected in organizations of repute. The establishment of Top Quality Centralized Research Laboratory having sophisticated equipment like DLTS, XRD, HPLC, GCMS, Atomic Absorptions Spectrophotometer, Hardness tester, UTM etc has helped the graduate students of faculty of natural sciences and faculty of Engineering & Technology to carry out quality research.
