and enhance the corporate image. I need a detailed plan in a week. Don’t

Du Xinyun: Good morning, everyone! It’s a great honor to share our
proposal here with all of you. Maybe there are still some drawbacks in the
proposal, and we are open to your suggestions. According to the task
assigned by the boss last week, our main idea is how to gain profit as
much as possible using the funding. So firstly, we will lay out the
possible applications of the funding separately, and then come to a final
proposal in consideration of the actual situation of our factory.
Correspondingly, our presentation is divided into 3 parts, namely possible
applications, analysis and final proposal. Now, let’s come to the first
part—possible applications.
1. We can optimize the productive technology. By ”productive
technology”, we mean the method and technology of production which
mainly includes process flows, production facility and so on. The
advanced technology provides the basis for raising economic benefits as
well as enhancing the capability of competitive. To be specific, we can
buy more efficient production equipment, introduce advanced technology
from aboard, or recruit excellent professionals to improve the current
production status.
Liu Qiao: 2. The second, the innovation of science and technology, talent
is the key. High quality talent is the core of enterprise competition. Only
by strengthen the talent team can enable enterprise in an invincible
position in fierce competition. So we must expand the school recruit and
recruit outstanding graduates which can inject fresh blood into the
pharmaceutical factory.
Du Xinyun: 3. We can expand investment in R&D. As we all know,
innovation, which is based on the capital and persons with ability, is the
core of further development in a pharmaceutical factory. To some degree,
the influence of innovation may not be so obvious in a short time,
however, over the long run, it will give a major boost to the corporate
interests.
Liu Qiao: 4. The forth, in order to shorten the product cycle and improve
efficiency, on the one hand, we’d better expand the scale of production
and increase the number of production lines. On the other hand,
optimizing inventory and logistics management can reduce the stock of
products and increase the production schedule which can also reduce
consumption and save costs. All in all, by increasing the investment of
manpower and material resources can make the production and
transportation of sales into integrated management system.
Du Xinyun: 5. We can change the variety of drugs that we are producing
now. I think it is a good choice to produce the ones whose patent
protection expires. For example, Glevic is one kind of drugs with patent
protection made by Novartis. During the patent protection duration, the
price of it was too high to afford for many patients. While, when the
patent protection expires, it will be replaced by generic drugs with a
much lower price. As a result, if we turn to produce drugs like this, there
must be more sales because of the price advantage. What’s more, we can
also choose some drugs aimed at chronic diseases because of the
long-term need.
Liu Qiao: 6. The sixth, intensify the propaganda and enhance the
enterprise influence. Begin with the following several points, first,
increase advertising spending and please stars for endorsement of the
drug which can use public influence of stars to raise public awareness of
enterprise. Second, in the name of the enterprise we can sponsor public
welfare activities. Third, updated packaging can attract more attention
of customers compared with other old packaged drugs. Forth, make full
use of new media, such as weibo and wechat platform, to enhance the
influence of factory.
Du Xinyun: 7. We can increase the investment in raw materials, in other
words, buy large batches of raw materials at once, in order to get a lower
price and then reduce production cost.
Liu Qiao: 8. The eighth, increase staff training opportunities, for instance
inviting college professors to our factory for training and arranging
employees study tours and visits to the domestic and foreign institutions
or companies, which can improve their ability and efficiency. What’s
more this can also improve the production efficiency of our factory.
Du Xinyun: 9. Enhancing corporate culture construction is a good choice
as well. Corporate culture is the soul of an enterprise. Good corporate
culture is not only one of the best tools to increase the enterprise
cohesiveness, but also the basis of forming a good atmosphere of
manufacture as well as reaching high production efficiency. It’s worth
noting that the staff is the core strength in the construction of corporate
culture. As a result, above all, we must pay attention to people-oriented
management. For example, we can hold collective activities, such as
party or competition, in order to cultivate their team sense and then
promote the development of productivity.
Liu Qiao: 10. The tenth, we can improve the welfare of employees which
may result in high work efficiency. There are many ways to realize this
goal such as giving employees a regular raise, increasing the intensity of
reward, and organizing employee collective travels which let employees
feel more humanistic care.
Du Xinyun: The possible applications are introduced above in detail. In
consideration of the actuality of our factory, we do the analysis as
following. First of all, the scale of our factory is a limited factor for
expanding the production, so 4, namely production expanding, cannot be
achieved unless building new plants. However, the funding is not enough
to do so. Furthermore, both the production capacity and the storing areas
lead to the infeasibility of the investment increase in raw materials. Even
more, if the raw materials are placed for a very long time till expired, the
costing will increase instead of reducing on the contrary. So the
investment increase in raw materials is not feasible. Finally, the
construction of corporate culture can be achieved by different ways, not
always based on massive funds, so this is not involved in our final
proposal. Based on the analysis above as well as consulting relevant
information through the Internet, we finally arrived at the proposal as

Liu Qiao:
 30% will be used on the optimization of the productive technology.(1)
 20% will be used on the investment in R&D.(3)
 15% will be used on changing the variety of drugs.(5)
 10% will be used on talent team building (2) 、 intensify the

 5% left will be used on improving the welfare of employees (10).

Lan Xiaoyu: OK. Our plan is quiet different from their plan. We pay
more attention to sustainable development, instead of interests. To be
honest, their plan is perfect, I have to say that if we adopt their plan,our
factory can improve the production efficiency, increase the company's
profits and R&D investment is conducive to long-term development. But
there are also some problems, as we all know that national policies about
environment protect are more and more valued. We can often hear some
news about business’s social responsibility. So your plan can bring
interests but doesn't take environment into consideration . We have to
admit that there are still some problems in environment protection. From
the perspective of sustainable development and our factory’s social
responsibility, we should shift our factory development from extensive
growth to intensive growth, and pay attention to environmental protection
and resource saving. Given the concrete situation of our factory, the
wastewater emission is the biggest problem, so how to reduce that is one
thing we should do first. Besides, taking effective measures to the
treatment of sewage also should be put at the first place. And both of
these require certain fund support.
So we want to use the money to fulfill the social responsibility and
enhance the corporate image, so our plan is as flows: let my partner say
firstly.
Luo wei: Ok, I introduce our group's plan first. The first part of our team
is saving environmental protection and scientific development. We also
have sufficient, we will listen to your advice and correct it gradually.
Review the past, our factory developed well in "green chemical". In order
to adapt the requirements of modern society, the company should shift
from "green chemical" to "low carbon chemical". Specific measures are
as follows.
1.1 As we all know, the synthetic routes of chemical medicine are most
from scientific research units, so that the process of transferring to the
production needs a series of optimization. Capital contribution should be
committed to research the optimization route of the development
production process.
1.2 We will continue to improve and expand greatly before the company
proposes the low carbon cycle economy which is an economic model
based on low energy consumption, low pollution and low emission. The
low carbon cycle economy is a new economic growth point in the future.
So we must catch it. The factory should promote energy conservation and
emissions reduction work actively and shut down energy-intensive
electrolytic device.
1.3 Environmental management. For pharmaceutical factory, pollution
source is one of the biggest problems to the environment. So we advice
the pollution source operates online, establish long-term effective
mechanism of environmental protection standards, monitor work to carry
out the situation to the public through the network. And don't be worry,
we will be responsible for the authenticity, accuracy of the public
contents.
1.4 The comprehensive utilization of resources. Recycle the solvent waste
and reduce the emissions of refractory organic matter are also what we
should do now. We propose the projects of liquid, gas wastes
comprehensive utilization and 1000 tons/year activated carbon waste
recycling engineering. By improving the solvent recovery process,
improve the quality of the recovered solvent and yield.
1.5 Standardize the by-product disposal. With the process of production,
there will bring so many by-products. Some are very useful in some
aspects. For instance, the byproduct of oil has good combustion
performance, as a kind of liquid fuel will has broad application prospects.
So we should make full use of the by-products. Save resource and reduce
the pollution.
These are our first part, we can not only fulfill the social responsibility,
but also can enhance the company image. Now xiao yu, it's your turn.
Lan Xiaoyu: OK, above is about how to improve our factory inside, and
next part is about how to expand the social influence.
1.This year we plan to hold two social charity activities in spring and
autumn. And if it cause a lot of good effects in society, we can hold this
every year. In another word, we can make it as an traditional activity.
The concrete form is as flows:
1.1Group some volunteers to promote environmental knowledge, we can
make several brochure and distribute to people.
1.2Spend part of the fund on making environmental protection ferment or
other chemical environmental protection products, sell them to people for
free.
2.Contact with the museum of natural history in Tianjin and hold
activities to improve spiritual civilization. Hold national junior high
school chemical competitions. This can cultivate students’ interests in
chemistry and let them pay more attention to how to make environment
friendly products.
And we also know that our fund is not enough to finish all of these things.
So we rank the projects in order of importance:
The first thing is dealing with the wastewater and optimizing the
productive processing to get the environment friendly products.
And rest amount of found can be used to do some public services. We can
establish the public-service foundations and support for those public
services talked above.
And if there is still remain fund, we can use it to get more interests.

Xiaoyu and luowei, In terms of environmental and social aspects, your
plan considers the social responsibility roundly. But, there are some
shortcomings of your plan. Firstly, it will cost a lot of manpower, material
resources and financial resources when the factory collects and disposes
the waste. Secondly, if we shut down the energy-intensive electrolytic
device, the production target will not come true. Maybe our factory will
be in crisis again. Finally, we spend the funding to host social activities,
the money maybe over budget. Taking all in account, we should not purse
the social duty blindly, the development of the factory is mainly part we
should consider.
In a word, you guys did very well, the funding we have is certain, I have
to use it to get the best results. Above all, we need to improve economic
returns. Next, on the basis of recovering from the crisis, we have to
consider the sustainable development and enhance the corporate image.
So, final scheme is that the funding will be divided into two parts. 70
percent of the money will be used to gain the profit, xinyun and liuqiao
are in charge of this part, you can invest the money according to the your
report content.
And xiaoyu and luowei , you can use the remaining
30 percent of the money to shoulder the social responsibility as much as
possible. Your plan is not bad, you can do your job following it.
