Additional in-depth Graduation Program Policy information is available at the Ministry of Education website: http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/graduation/grad2004.htm Course Selection Process Course selection begins in the spring for the following school year. Students will select courses required for graduation, as well as alternate choices in the event that classes selected are not available. It is important to make careful selections at this time, as changing courses later often is not possible. Students should make sure their course selections meet their graduation requirements, as well as satisfy any post-secondary admission requirements. Course Changes Students should see their counsellor immediately if they have any problems with their course schedules. During the opening days of the semester, students are required to get any course request approved by the vice-principal. Please note that only limited course changes can be made depending on availability of space. Course Change Request Forms must be filled out completely to request a change of schedule. Students must change courses prior to the deadline posted for each semester. Graduation Credit Checks Students who expect to graduate in June should meet with their counsellor regularly throughout the school year to ensure they have enough credits to satisfy graduation requirements. Interim transcripts are available upon request for students requiring proof of interim marks for scholarship or admission applications. Come to the Counselling Office and fill out a green form called “Request for Transcript of Grades.” When Are Transcripts Sent to Students? The Ministry of Education sends transcripts to all active Grade 12 students: At the end of July, regardless of graduation status Each school and Post-Secondary Institution designated by students on their Post-Secondary Institutions (PSI) Selections also receives an official copy of transcript information.
