USF IS A UTILITIES PROVIDER MEMBER OF THE FLORIDA STATE SUNSHINE ONE CALL SYSTEM.
ALL CAMPUS BURIED UTILITIES LOCATE SERVICE REQUEST MUST BE INITIATED VIA “SUNSHINE 811” PROCESS.
USF IT AND USF PPD DIVISIONS TECHNICAL STAFF WILL RESPOND TO SUNSHINE 811 REQUEST AND PROVIDE LOCATE SERVICE.

REVIEW USF DIG PERMIT PROCESS WITH GC/CM

RECORD AND MONITOR ALL BURIED UTILITIES LOCATE REQUESTS IN PREPARATION FOR EXCAVATION AND SUBSURFACE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES.
COORDINATE WITH FPC PM, USF PPD AND USF IT UTILITIES LOCATE TEAM ACTIVITIES ON SITE. PROVIDE UNHAMPERED ACCESS TO SITE BY USF
PPD AND USF IT UTILITIES TECHNICAL STAFF.
MONITOR SUNSHINE 811 REQUESTS MADE BY THE SUB-CONTRACTORS; AND NOTIFY USF PPD AND USF IT WHEN LOCATE SERVICE IS DELAYED
BEYOND 48 HOURS.

THE ELECTRICAL SHOP SUPERVISOR VERIFIES THE SUNSHINE REQUEST IS WITHIN THE USF BOUNDARIES AND DISTRIBUTES THE REQUEST TO THREE
DEPARTMENTS:

EACH SHOP WILL PERFORM THEIR UTILITIES LOCATE SERVICE WITHIN TWO WORKING DAYS. IF NOT POSSIBLE, THE SHOP SHALL CONTACT THE
REQUESTOR FOR SCHEDULING.
COMPLETED AND SIGNED LOCATE REQUESTS WILL BE HANDED TO THE UTILITY DEPARTMENT’S ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
THE UTILITIES ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT WILL CLOSE EACH SURVEY REQUEST VIA THE SUNSHINE811 ONLINE SYSTEM AND PROVIDE INFORMATION
ON WORK COMPLETED
ALL REQUESTS ARE TO BE TREATED AS NEW REQUESTS, INCLUDING RE-REQUESTS BY THE REQUESTOR

MAINTAIN ON SITE AS-BUILT RECORD OF ALL UTILITIES LOCATE INFORMATION. AS FAMILIAR LANDMARKS AND REFERENCE MARKERS ARE ALTERED BY
THE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES, LATER LOCATE ESERVICES BECOME LESS RELIABLE.
