Chapter Fund Scholarships Guidelines for Application for Educational Advancement Scholarships Rules: The purpose of Chapter Fund scholarships is to allow AFP-GLAC members to participate in educational activities which would not otherwise be affordable or reimbursed. Scholarships shall be awarded for educational pursuits such as: attending monthly AFP luncheons, roundtables, industry conferences, online fundraising courses, CFRE materials and exam, but excluding AFP-GLAC dues and renewals or dues to other organizations. Applicants must submit a written application to the Philanthropy Committee. The Philanthropy Committee will review the application within three weeks. The applicant may be contacted by phone or scheduled for an interview for further information. The Committee will review and approve or decline the application within four weeks of submittal. A maximum of $500 may be awarded to a given individual during any year. Total number of scholarships available depends upon Chapter Fund annual budget. Applicants must: Be a member of AFP-GLAC for at least one year. Must attend at least one meeting and/or roundtable from the beginning of their membership to the time of application for the scholarship. Must attend at least one meeting and/or roundtable after receiving the scholarship and be available to report to the members. Preference will be given to those who have donated to the Chapter Fund Scholarship Recipients must: Turn in all receipts from their expenditures for reimbursement. A reimbursement check will be mailed to submitter (or to submitter’s employer) within two weeks. Write and submit a half-page report describing two or three lessons learned or practical tips gained from their experience. Be willing to speak briefly about their experience at a meeting, if requested.
