Tuesday Feb. 24 Objectives Procedures SW read informational text, The Evidence for Evolution Story, and complete a chart using information from the text. SW have to identify adaptations, fossils, anatomy, and embryology as evidence of evolution. If there is time student groups may begin an investigation on comparative anatomy. Homework: Complete chart if not completed in class SW continue to or begin the comparative anatomy investigation mentioned on Monday. SW be given 6 skeletons to label and identify bones. SW make observations and answer analysis and conclusion questions about the 6 different skeletons and how similar yet different they are. Homework: Any incomplete portion of the investigation is to be done as homework. SW begin looking at fossil evidence for evolution. Students will discover a series of fossilized bones. They will use a resource to make comparisons to other found fossils. SW have to determine what organism they believe these bones to belong and provide evidence for their reasoning. Homework: Complete analysis as needed. SW be given class time to complete Fossil evidence from Wed. if needed. SW begin working on an Evidence informational packet. SW will work independently for 15 min, then given group work time to check answers and ask questions.
