UMHC SPONSORSHIP GRANTS
ABOUT:
The University of Maine Humanities Center (UMHC) supports the humanities at the University of
Maine by awarding grants to support varied campus events. Applicants may request up to $500. Funds
are limited.
ELIGIBILITY:
Faculty and graduate students may submit requests for Sponsorship Grants. Priority will be given to
programs that are free and open to the public. All publicity must acknowledge support from the
University of Maine Humanities Center and should try to incorporate our logo into any media.
APPLICATION DEADLINES:
There is no set deadline for applications. Requests for co-sponsorship will be accepted until funds are
depleted and will be awarded on an ad-hoc basis.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
To apply for a UMHC Sponsorship Grant, please complete the application on the following page and
email, as a Word document attachment, to Liam Riordan, Director, University of Maine Humanities
Center (riordan@umit.maine.edu). Requests for up to $250 will be granted at the Director’s discretion;
a faculty committee will evaluate requests for more than $250.
