They should know how to use the clause “there is a../there are..” to express the singular or the plural. In addition they should have improved their pronunciation a little bit. Vocabulary. Names of common animals. Brief notions of grammar to express the singular and the plural At my farm Learn new vocabulary and how to use the verb “to be” for singular and plural. The student should be able to know the names of chosen animals, pronounce their names correctly and to express if there are one or more using the expression “there is a/ there are. It is assumed that most of the students know some of the most common animal names previously. White board, handouts, picture, computer. The practice exercises will show if the students grasped the new vocabulary and if they know how to express the singular and the plural. (Describe the pictures shown in the exercise, figure out their own favorite farm). The lesson was good in general. However the pace of the class was lower than expected and was necessary to drop one activity. The level of the vocabulary was correct although the number of animals exposed (12) was too large for most of the students and took more time than expected. The pronunciation was fairly good. The use of the expressions for plural and singular was achieved but some of them had difficulties with the meaning of the word “there”, The words this/these may had worked better. Subject Topic Aim Objective Knowledge assumed Material & equipment Learning assessment Post lesson notes Lesson date Lesson duration 12 February 2015 1 hour The materials and exercises were good. Both helped a lot to fix the vocabulary and the expressions. The pictures showed on the board and the exercises worked well. The students’ behavior was very good, they showed interest and kept their attention all along the lesson. They were always taught in English. Sometimes they spoke each other in their mother tongue, which threatened the level of attention and was necessary to cut those conversations. There was a significant difference of level between the students. One of them had more level than the others, so it was necessary to use one back up activity while the others did their exercises. At this level, the teacher had to speak a lot of time, repeating the sound of the words and expressions. The atmosphere was very good, the students enjoyed during the lesson and got a good feeling at the end of the lesson. For future lessons is recommended to reduce the number of the words to learn, and to reduce the length of the activities in order to complete all the activities prepared. She showed a lot of interest and participation. Learned most of the names and the notions of singular and plural, though she had some troubles with the meaning of the word “there”, but after that she grasped the expression. Her pronunciation was acceptable. She felt more confident during the lesson and left the class with a very good feeling She has some notions of English and her pronunciation was good for her level. However she showed some difficulties to remember the names, and commit a mistakes with the singular structure, but she understood her mistake. Very participative, Show a lot of interest. She spoke many times in her mother tongue and was necessary to correct that behavior. She felt confident and left the class very satisfied. He had the higher level of the class, and he already knew some of the names. His pronunciation was lower than expected, even during the repetitions. He didn’t commit mistakes on the practice activities, and he even needed an extra activity while the others was doing theirs. He participated, showed interest, but his motivation went down a little bit during the class due to his higher level over the others. Maybe he needed a higher challenge in the activities.
