Emma Carton RASE Sexual and Asexual Reproduction Version A Question 2 In what ways do you think offspring born from one parent might differ from those born from two parents? Cite specific examples to support your ideas. Some different ways that an offspring born from one parent can differ from an offspring born from two parents is that the offspring that has only one parent has the exact same traits that its parent has. The offspring from asexual reproduction is exactly the same as the parent and there is no way possible that there can be different traits because there is no one else to give the offspring different traits. But, if the offspring has two parents, then there can be a variety of traits that the offspring will get. If one parent has brown eyes (dominant) and the other parent has blue eyes (recessive) than the offspring will get brown eyes. So every offspring that is born from sexual reproduction will not be an exact copy of a parent. This is a connection to the world. Some species reproduce with asexual reproduction and the outcome of it is that the offspring is the exact same. Other species reproduce by sexual reproduction and their offspring has different genes from each parent so they don’t look exactly like the parent. Each offspring has a little of each parent that makes the up.
