Press Release ContiTech Elastomer Coatings ContiTech's New Shoe Fabric Ceraprene Proves Its Value Even When Exposed to Extremely High Stress High wear comfort even in the most extreme load situations Excellent material: Ceraprene is water-repellent, wear-resistant, and contaminant-free Frankfurt, May 2015. A real buddy when the going gets tough. With this slogan, ContiTech will present the new shoe fabric Ceraprene at Techtextil. It is an optimum companion for any extreme stress situation. "The excellent material properties set the fabric apart from other materials," says Rodrigo Maia, head of the Engineered Coated Systems product market segment. Thanks to its high resistance, Ceraprene is suitable for safety shoes, trekking shoes used in demanding terrain, sports shoes for soccer or tennis matches, and sturdy casual shoes. ContiTech Elastomer Coatings is presenting another fabric in the field of high-quality shoe materials with this innovation. Ceraprene is made from highly resistant rubber compounds that are water-repellent and optionally also waterproof. "Some materials such as UHAR fabrics are also extremely wear-resistant, and guarantee a very long service life," reports Melanie Liedtke-Sieben, Product Manager Coated Fabric in the Engineered Coated Systems segment at ContiTech Elastomer Coatings. The elastomer textile is only coated on hydrophobic nonwoven fabric. This means that the nonwoven fabric is water-resistant and cannot get soaked through – an important characteristic for good wear comfort, even in extreme weather conditions. What is more, Ceraprene is highly flexible even at very low temperatures and so does not restrict movement of the foot or adversely affect wear comfort. Good ozone resistance makes a decisive contribution to the footwear's service life. Thanks to the manufacturing quality, the material is highly colorfast and does not fade even after intensive use. Ceraprene is available in various colors and surface finishes, depending on the customer's design concept. For ContiTech, it goes without saying that the shoe material is free from substances such as chromium, cadmium, and tributyltin hydride (TBT), in accordance with the relevant DIN standards. 1/2 Your contact: Antje Lewe, phone: +49 511 938-1304 -2Caption CT_EC_Ceraprene.jpg High-quality shoe material for the outdoor and trekking segment: ContiTech's elastomer textile Ceraprene offers optimum wear comfort in any situation and is ideal for safety shoes, soccer boots, and tennis shoes.
